Hotel was amazing; the breakfast and facilities were good. However, most of the staff members were cold towards us making us feel unwelcome possibly due to us being younger. Additionally other guests kept staring at us adding to us feeling unwelcome. Therefore I recommend if over the age of 21 or as a family.
The hotel was excellent, staff , facilities and location make this a wonderful place to stay .
But our disappointment in the service from Expedia is hard to express , dreadful ..
Totally impossible to get hold of them and when our flight was cancelled we could not talk or email them .
Everything was spot on, the hotel, staff, food, facilities and just to add ive never stayed in such a clean hotel.
We stayed in room 118, standard LV room with balcony and our cleaner was faultless and such a lovely lady.
Bravo everyone, we will be back asap!!
Great stay. Arrived early and made every effort to have the room ready before check-in. Fantastic view from the terrace and the room. All the staff were excellent. Couldn’t recommend the hotel enough.
It was our 2nd time staying at this hotel. We had a front lake view which was absolutely gorgeous. The room was adequate for two people, although the bathroom was long and quite narrow, having to squeeze past the basin and door which didn’t open fully because of the handle. Not enough plug sockets. These are constructive issues and in no way spoilt our time in Garda.
View from the front facing room was fabulous. Front desk was incredibly helpful with a number of issues. Room was roomy, clean, bed was good and bathroom clean and good. Breakfast was fantastic so be sure and get it. Staff were very attentive. Walk into town was easy and very close to the ferry. Have dinner at La Losa - we ended up eating there multiple nights. Highly recommend this well located hotel.

Clean hotel, good views from the poolside
Very tiny room with no space or balcony view, good location to the front of lake Garda,
A very friendly and knowledgeable staff. They are extremely accommodating and recommend activities, dinners, shopping. We would recommend this hotel and we will definitely be back🤗
Staff are extremely helpful, food delicious, hotel small and very clean. On edge of town centre which is a promenade walk, close to ferry’s. Free parking and bike hire at hotel.
My daughter and spent 4 nights at the hotel and were very happy with it. The location is really good and is overlooking the lake. The breakfasts were fantastic with a great choice of food, as were the dinners which were really good value also. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to stay at Lake Garda.
We had an excellent experience at this hotel. Walking distance from the city center, clean, wonderful staff, delicious breakfast. I would definitely stay there again. The beds are harder than expected but the room was spacious and with a beautiful view.
I booked a special gateaway as by birthday treat and I did mention it in my booking confirmation but it was ignored. During check-in the lady at the reception was a bit grumpy but it’s ok. The room was super small but this is what we booked. The hotel is nice and very well maintained. In case if we ever come back we will be booking a larger room. The one we were in it was difficult to move around as it was too small. The breakfast is good.
The hotel has a great location overlooking the lake and a short stroll to the waterfront lined with restaurants. It has a pool onsite and a lakeside garden about ten minutes walk away. We visited the garden once but didn't stay as there is also a beachbar there playing loud music. Your room choice will probably make a big difference to your enjoyment of the hotel -- we stayed at first in a room at the front with a large balcony and a gorgeous view over the lake. Perfect. Because our plans changed we stayed a further night and, as the hotel was almost full, had a room at the back without any view. Obviously it was cheaper, but it smelled musty and was not a room we could recommend. The breakfast was first rate -- a mix of continental and freshly cooked eggs. The cleaning staff, bar staff and breakfast chefs were all friendly and helpful. The reception staff were a little more mixed and perhaps lacked a little of the warmth of the other staff.
The Hotel is a Perfect Position for access to the Lake Restaurants & Bars. The Rooms are comfortable with Air Conditioning and the Full Lake View Room which we booked was a Spectacular View.
The Staff were very Friendly and Courtesy, a Special Thank You for Arianna for Booking all the Restaurants.

Lovely hotel, fantastic views from the pool area, great breakfast choice, only a couple minutes walk to the promenade where you can walk either way. The room was spotlessly clean and the shower was great.
I booked a balcony room at the back of the hotel but had I known it had a view of the car park I wouldn’t have bothered. I would have just booked a room without a balcony as we only sat on it for 20 minutes as the view was just not great. It would be better if you could not see through the railings and you could only see what was above.
We loved our stay at the hotel, in my opinion probably the best I have stayed in.. the rooms were lovely and clean, the staff were wonderful, the pool area was lovely, overall an amazing stay for us.. would highly recommend and will definitely come back in the future.. thank you to all the staff
I stayed in July 2019 solo for my birthday. There was an awful sewer smell in room 203, they moved me a floor up to 303 but it was present there as well, and hit worse when the air con was off and at 3am in the morning, previous guests confirmed it too. My double, single use room was tiny, not even enough room to turn and get out of bed comfortably. Hotel won't exchange GBP for EUR even though they kept my passport so i couldnt get it from the Bank they sent me to. Breakfast was nice on the terrace and pool area relaxing apart from the traffic noise.

Dear Natasha,
As already answered on Tripadvisor 4 months ago, I am sorry you found the room smelly, but no other guests, before or after you, had this problem in the same room. You booked the Economy room, We definitely are willing to give upgrades on supplement, but during the period of your stay the hotel was fully booked.
Unfortunately we do not change money at the hotel, there are several banks and money exchange in town, we do apologize if they “all close at odd times”…Anyway we need the passport only 10 minutes for the registration and then you could ask us back.
Garda is an amazing place to visit and the Hotel Excelsior is an excellent place to base yourself. The rooms probably vary but our standard no view room was as described and perfectly comfortable and met our requirements. The staff are very welcoming, breakfast is excellent with a chef on hand to cook your eggs however you like them. The pool area is excellent with views of the lake. The only thing to be mindful of is rhat the 'private beach' is a garden area about 5 minutes from the hotel.
Great family owned hotel run very well and efficient
The food was excellent and staff friendly and helpful.
Accomodation very good and at a good central location.
Very well situated for exploring Garda town, shops, restaurants and other amenities. Really enjoyed the use of the private garden (with sun beds) behind the bikini bar on the beach.
Everything we could have needed was available at the hotel, just a short walk along the lake into the centre of Garda and staff were fabulous, Dina in particular was so helpful, friendly and efficient!
Enjoyed our stay to Hotel Excelsior Le Terrazze. Great location with plenty of restaurants & cafes for dinning out. We upgraded our room from a standard room to one with a balcony for some extra space although there were no lake view rooms available. Breakfast was good, only critic would be the waiting staff could be a bit more friendly in the morning.
Lovely property well maintained, lovely staff and beautiful views of the lake. Only had breakfast but it was well presented also had a free afternoon tea each day which was an unexpected bonus.
Very tiny room, no place to move. We knew our rooms are without view but the view was to the noisy parking lot, while our windows were next to the chimney.
The air-conditioner does not work in the hotel until June so we had to open the windows and couldn't sleep because of the noise.
The staff during the check-in was unpleasant.
The breakfast and the staff in the dining room were excellent though.
the staying in the hotel was very good. near the lake with good view.the breakfast was very good.the reception was also kind and helpful.
The room was clean and arang everyday.
tea /coffee free in the room.in the looby tea /coffee and cakes free at 16-18 everyday
the service very good
If the hotel is full there maybe problem with the parking.
