Girls Spa getaway
Posted Sep 12, 2016
We (4) went there for a girls spa overnight getaway. Glad it wasn't longer, As it wasn't quite the " resort" it's touted as. Renovations in the lobby are modern and very nice, albeit a bit cold. However the spa leaves a lot to be desired, Especially given the prices!! They advertised themselves as a spa resort, but the spa is grungy, old and nothing special. All our robes were tattered and torn (very unappealing way to start out) and the Flip flops still had prior grit in them. The Massages were awesome! Be sure to request Steven and Lavonna (if they were in Chicago we'd frequent them)! They really are super and the redeeming grace of this outing! Facials were nothing special (not evens roller under your legs to get in the right position). Our friends pedicures were nice but not fabulous at $70. At those prices we would have expected more SPA-like, such as hot tea, nice lounging area- not the front desk wait in room, up to date magazines, or even lemon water. Just water. The paint was chipping and wallpaper peeling in the rooms, and locker room. We heard they are soon renovating ( thank god! ) Don't be deceived by the pool with the spa in the online pictures. It is just the normal hotel pool and hot tub. ( very nice but not private/ relaxing for spa goers). Kids playing with families, etc. Steam room and sauna were very nice, and the Outdoor pool was lovely. Water was heated, but minimal service with no towels there ( we had to run back indoors to get towels, water). All
