Perfect trip. Hotel perfectly located to town, restaurants, bars and the lake. This was the second time I stayed on the property. I’ve stayed in both the hotel and motel both are equally nice!!!

Fort William. The king of Hotels.
Fort William Henry Hotel was nice. After 2 days we received a complimentary upgrade for the remaining 2 nights which was thoughtful. Choose the Lake scenery side.

Our family thought we reserved at Ford William Henry HOTEL. But they got a small MOTEL at the same place, no direct access to the indoor pool we have to dress kids for winter just to get to our "hotel" pool. 120V electricity wasnt working beside one of the bed the phone did not charge overnight. BUT THE WORST is not the misrepresentation (they sent us to a motel section not a hotel) it is the EXTRA HOTEL fees (in the motel!) 33% of the price paid on hotels.com ! SCAM, fake advertising (basic motel not connected from inside the hotel) and 33% hidden extra fees. Never again !

I expected more based on the reviews
There was a distinct musty odor in the room. The air conditioner did not cool the room. It was set at 68 because the room would not cool. The window was broken so it could not be opened to cool the room. Wanted to change reservations due to a family emergency but got bounced back and forth between the hotel and hotels.com/expedia ... both saying they couldn't make any modifications unless it was approved by the other. In the end, nothing was done.

Give Us Some Light!
We stayed in the adjacent motel building. The rooms appeared to have been recently remodeled, but had some quirks. Our biggest complaint was the low wattage light bulbs in all the lamps. I've been in better lit bars. It was dark enough that I couldn't read in the easy chair without tilting the shade of the lamp that was directly behind the chair. Said chair really didn't fit well in the room and seemed to be shoved in the corner because they couldn't fit elsewhere. Another complaint was the indoor pool which was in shabby condition with peeling paint and unpainted spots on the concrete floor. The grounds were nice (but could have used more chairs and benches to enjoy the spectacular lake view). The staff we dealt with were friendly and helpful. The location is very convenient and you can walk to everything in town. Would we stay here again? Perhaps, but we've stayed at other Lake George hotels we like better.
