Madrid, Spain High School Reunion

Posted Aug 8, 2017
The Westin at Lake Las Vegas put on a show. We had 500 alumni attend our reunion this year, classes from 1958 thru 1984. The staff was incredible serving us a buffet meal Friday night, a sit down meal Saturday night and breakfast Sunday morning. The food was incredible. The servers all worked their butts off insuring that the food was served hot and fresh, hard to with such a large group. We packed the pools, the dance floors and everywheee else and were treated first class. Our room was excellent and cleaned every day with fresh linens and towels. The beds are awesome. Well done Westin. The best reunion I have attended over the years. FIVE STARS....

Quiet resort hotel outside vegas

Posted Aug 7, 2017
Beautiful hotel however issues with breakfast rate upset the star - we booked the room for 4 people with breakfast but were told upon arrival that only 2 could have breakfast. The reception staff were very unhelpful with long explanations about how it was expedias fault, this happens all the time etc which I really wasn't interested in but just wanted we what we had paid for. Eventually the manager got involved and gave us the breakfast for 4 - my advice would be book the non breakfast rate until they can sort themselves out.

Pros: great setting along the lake, nice swimming pools and opportunities to enjoy the lake.
Cons: vacuum the hallways. provide maybe one more staff at the front desk during peak times of the day - long lines. Open maybe one pool for early swimmer
Location: Out of the way was good and bad. Liked the quiet setting but the drives were a bit longer than we hoped.
My family enjoyed the stay. We did have an issue with the toilet leaking from the bottom and also fruit flies all over some leftover food. Not sure what part of the facility was above us but on Thursday morning right after 8 a.m. it seemed like their was some construction taking place. We were early risers so didn't affect us too much but if we were later arrivers and sleepers that may have been different.

Nice hotel in Lake Las Vegas

Posted Jul 30, 2017
I stayed at the Westin Lake Las Vegas for a women's retreat. It was under construction but still very clean and quiet. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Service is slow in the cafe for lunch, but the waiter was nice. I love the spa and spa people! I would stay here again to get away from the strip and city.

Beautiful hotel

The hotel was beautiful and the staff was very friendly. The only bad thing was that they had us wait two hours before they gave us the room.

Terrible hotel, worst experience EVER!!!

Posted Jul 24, 2017
Pros: NOTHING.
Cons: THE ENTIRE HOTEL AND THEIR STAFF
Location: STAY IN THE HILTON LAKE RESORT, NOT IN THE WESTIN!!!!!!
After I checked in, I went straight to the room, which I booked thru Expedia.com, I bought it because it supposed to have a king size bed and a sofa bed, but no, there was not a sofa bed, after a 12 hour driving from home town to Las Vegas, and being a little too tired, I spoke to the hotel staff, and they said the hotel is going under renovation, but I really saw nobody working around, I was told they will send me a roll away bed at no charge and my children and I decided to go out for dinner, and when we came back to the hotel (around 11:00 PM) there was no roll away bed, not only that, but there was also a written notice, saying that hotel will shut off water service the following day, because of the renovation going on. Carpet stings, there were all kind of stains in the carpet, water in commode was running all the time, making terrible noise all the time. When I requested a refund of the money that I paid a month in advance, I was told I had to talk to Expedia, which I did; and I was able to move to another hotel at 1:30 AM. All this happened on July 17; today is July 23, I am back at home, and the resort fees they charged on my credit card have not been credited yet, the hotel told me it wil be credited immediately, and seven days after I have not seen those in my account at all. WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. Details explaining our renovation project are listed on Expedia and it’s unfortunate that you were unaware of our current conditions prior to your arrival. We hope to have the chance to leave you with a better impression once our updates are complete.

An Oasis

Posted Jul 23, 2017
Pros: It's away from Vegas and quiet. It has a view and atmosphere of posh elegance with activities and amenities available for everyone.
Cons: n/a
Location: Right on Lake Las Vegas with all the outdoor activities anyone could want. Easy access to Las Vegas.
When you arrive and go along the palm tree lined drive, you begin to relax. When you get in to the hotel you feel pampered. Our room happened to be in the section that hasn't been renovated yet. Nonetheless, we could find no faults. Beds were extremely comfortable and a view of the lake is amazing. We ate at Rick's Cafe. The meal was delightful, tasty, good sized servings, and you never felt rushed. There were activities and amenities available for the whole family, while being quiet for those who needed sleep. Truly an oasis on vacation.

Big Room not a lot of furniture

Posted Jul 22, 2017
Pros: Location
Cons: Furnish the suites better and have what is advertised, i.e. a pull out couch.
Location: Has it's own lagoon with water sports available 2 pools and 2 restaurants on property, 5 minute drive from our restaurants at Lake Las Vegas
We stayed in a 2 room suite and the living room was supposed to have a pull out bed for my child, the room had just been renovated and they didn't put a pull out as advertised in the room. Also the room was very large with not a lot of furniture in it 1 small sofa (size of a love seat) and 2 end tables. The bedroom had a king size bed 2 end tables and a chair. Great layout but not well furnished. Overall pleasant stay.
