It is a wilderness hostel so don't expect a regular hotel but I got exactly what I wanted. Very beautiful area and a nice place to get away from it all

"Rustic m, and comfortable. "
We stay for the 4 day weekend in Easter. Though it was sold out. The resort didn't seem overly busy. During the day most people were usually gone to lake Louis or Banff as we were. The fire pit was open to all and was very near our cabin. The housekeeping crew kept our cabin stocked with various needs from towels to sugar to dish washer detergent everyday. However, the hot tub unserviceable the entire stay, which was disappointing. The walls were a bit thin due it being log cabins. But it wasn't a big deal.

"close to Lake Louise and other venues."
Nice place. Located between the Crossing and Lake Louise. Located on main road and main freight line for the railroad. Walk up no elevator. Wi Fi was fine. Good place to stay given location and price.

We were on our way back from Vernon, B.C. going to Alberta and needed a place to stay since we decided to go to Sunshine for a day. Made reservation through Expedia which was very easy.

Emerald Lake Lodge

Emerald Lake Road, Field V0A1G0 - Map
The place is beautifully situated and the property has some luxury features. The dining room provides good fare with some interesting items. The owning company CRMR has its own ranch near Calgary and it raises elks, bison and beef there. All meats served comes from this farm. The best item is a charcuterie platter consisting of a variety of dried meats--elk prosciutto, and so on. But on the whole the menu is skimpy, and the prices are atrocious. Two scallops for $ 19.00 and the waitress claims that the item is "very sharable"! Too much up and down stair climbing to get from the main lodge to individual cabins. It seems that the place cannot make up its mind about what it aims to be: a luxury resort, a young folks' sporting base, or a spare and spartan meditation centre. No cell service. Wifi only in the lodge. One is cut off from the outside world. Impossible to fathom why wifi cannot be provided in the cabins. It is unlikely that we will go back to the place. That is a shame because the location is unbeatable for its amazing natural beauty.

"Best last-minute decision made"
After having to book a room here last minute (due to weather conditions we had to cancel our trip to another hotel), we were surprised to find our room not only available an hour ready prior to check in time, but also that our room was upgraded to their heritage room. Our room was nice and seems renovated. The hotel itself gives a rustic feel. The restaurant is a must-go. The only issues were lack of outlets in the room and that the hallway was always warm (I guess they have to keep it dry?). Otherwise, we had a pleasant stay and would definitely book here again.

Hotel was great. Great location. Good restaurant. Spa and pool great. Rooms tidy bed comfortable. They where doing renovations while I was there which wasn't an inconvenience but I'm sure will make the place look even better. The only frustration was I wanted a print out of everything they charged us for and they could not give that to me which was a little annoying .. But ther then that it was good

"Pretty little rustic cabin"
Lovely little cabin, perfect if you want the peace and quiet of the "middle of nowhere". However although it is classed as Golden BC it is about 40k away from Golden down a lengthy bumpy logging road (easy to miss at night). Beautiful place but for our purpose on this trip (a stopover en route to Vancouver) it was a bit too off the beaten track.
