Who wouldn't want to take the "sky buckets" to a pet-friendly mountaintop hotel and restaurant? The staff were outgoing and responsive, the restaurant dinner food was outstanding, the included breakfast buffet was lovely, and the views from my room were out of this world (with paragliders and hang gliders darting past). Highly recommended!

This hotel is perched all on its own at the top of a mountain and is accessible by a 'bucket lift' only. It was so unusual and the views from our room were spectacular. We even had a hang glider come fly right up to our room's terrace who gave us a smile and a wave. We had a lovely dinner on the restaurant's terrace overlooking the lake and so much more with an absolutely amazing sunset. We were there for only one night and did not want to leave. If you want a something different, special, romantic etc etc, then you must stay here.

Quirky hotel
We are an older couple who like to find quirky places to stay. This fit the bill. The only way to get to the hotel on top of a mountain overlooking Lago Maggiore was to have a 20 minute ride being pulled up in a bucket! The ride was special with a fabulous view of the lake and mountains. The hotel is old and tired and needs a good clean up of things they no longer need such as the torn flag decorations outside. Our suitcases came up,the mountain in a bucket also and to reach reception we had to drag them down 2 flights of stairs with no offer of help. On our departure I knew it would be very difficult to get our suitcases up 2 flights of stairs to the funivia so I asked for help.Bingo! They have a service elevator for goods direct from reception to the funivia. Why could they not have offered this to us before? We had dinner in the hotel restaurant one night. The service, food and view were good but why have a noisy karaoke during the meal? There is no kettle in the room but they gave me cups and a pot of hot water when I asked The manager and staff were pleasant

Isolated in the fog
Non-cancellable reservation… arrived at dusk in the fog with no lighting to the entrance. Fog did not lift but increased. I had a mostly thawed lasagna for lunch and decided to skip dinner. I was the only guest in the hotel until a couple arrived down the hall. Awoke to find fog, absollutely no one at the desk, in the kitchen, outside. Waited for two hours until a kithen worker arrived and told me where the breakfast room was located (I had walked around calling for anyone but did not go around to the back of area by the funicular) There was coffee and rolls and the couple i had heard previously were there. There was no way to gett off the mountain until the funicular was started (how did the cook and the breakfast room attendant get there?). I was snot pleased to find a 35 Euro charge for the lunch on my bill but foggy resignation had set in. A pity that alternate arrangements in Laveno Mombello could not have been offered.

Lovely views, shame about the accommodation
On arrival we had to pay 10 euro per person to use the cable car to reach the hotel, this information is NOT included on your website. Whilst the views are fantastic the accommodation is very basic, and we had no hot water to shower, but were able to use another room. Had to eat in expensive and basic restaurant, as cable car doesn't run in the evening. Friendly staff if you can find them!

Needs a make over!
The hotels location is amazing but unfortunately is let down by extremely dated rooms and generally messy surroundings. Staff are great and if the weather is kind to you the views are beautiful.. Worth a visit but only for one night! Also don't book it if you need to get away early the following morning as the cable car may not be running!

Fantastic views and nice staff
Fantastic views from high above Lago Maggiore. Friendly staff and good service. Great to spend time on room/bar/restaurant balconies. Easy to catch fun "bucket" lift up and down to Laveno. Hotel was very flexible with lift hours to fit in with our requirements. Room condition was ordinary, but we were not there for the room.

Amazing view, nothing else
Funivia hotel is located on the summit of a mountain, hence need to be reached by cable car. this cable car is closed at 6 pm. we got there exactly on time (6 pm) and needed to convince the operator man to let us go up. once we got there, we found antique hotel, with very old furniture, bed and very uncomfortable bath (less than 50cm in length I assume with nothing to stop the water from getting out of it), so we gave up on taking a bath that day. The only option to eat is in the restaurant of the hotel which serve only few dishes which were very small and expensive, doesn't worth it. nothing to do later on. no minibar, very small TV. The view is amazing indeed but nothing more than that. wouldn't go there again.

A piece of heaven overlooking Lago Maggiore
Friendly and efficient staff. Adequate room. Good restaurant. EXTRAORDINARY views from balcony and restaurant. However be aware that it is only accessible by cable car with limited hours.

Funivie Del Lago Maggiore er egentlig en svævebane til et udsigtspunkt 1000 m over Lago Maggiore. Bjergstationen er udbygget så den omfatter en fin restaurant, en bar, en cafe og udenomsplads med legepladser, bålpladser og startsted for drageflyvere. Og så altså et mindre hotel på bygningens overetage. Udsigten deroppefra er formidabel. Næsten hele søen, masser af omgivende byer, øerne i søen og sågar i det fjerne Milanos lufthavn. Og så Alperne mod vest og nord. Ulempen men også det uforglemmelige er vejen derop: Man kan kun komme derop med svævebanen. I gondolerne kan der være 2 små personer. De minder om runde skraldespande, hvor man står op hele vejen. Bagagen sendes op samtidig med gæsterne i næste gondol. Turen tager 15-20 min. Man skal løse liftkort. Det koster 12 EUR for et 3-dages-kort. Liften åbner kl. 10 og lukker 21.30. En af vore aftener lukkede den dog tidligere p.g.a. vind. Hotellet ringede til os og gav besked herom, så vi kom akkurat op som de sidste den dag.

Parfait !
Le séjour commence de manière insolite avec une (longue) montée en télécabine. On profite de la vue tout au long du parcours. Veillez juste à ne rien oublier dans la voiture avant de monter ! Nous avons été accueillis par la très sympathique Paola (qui parle français !). La chambre était parfaite, avec de l'espace et une vue à couper le souffle depuis la terrasse. On voit une bonne partie de la rive occidentale du lac majeur, avec notamment les îles Boromée et les montagnes derrière. Le coucher de soleil est une expérience ! Les nombreux parapentes nous survolant étaient quelque chose de magique. Le dîner et le petit-déjeuner étaient également très bien, et le personnel adorable. Nous reviendrons !

Meget specielt at blive transporteret til et hotel i 1000 M højde. Desværre fik vi ikke fornøjelsen af udsigt og. Lign. Da uvejr tog over. Konsekvens var indstilling af funiviaen. Service i hotellet og restaurant super. Måske burde funiviaen var inkluderet i hotelprisen.

Annorlunda hotel med utmaning och utsikt!
Den första och största chocken kom när vi insåg att man måste åka med en väldigt gammal och liten linban upp till toppen av ett 1060 meter högt berg där hotellet ligger beläget...det stod intet om det I beskrivningen. Men när man väl kommer upp så är det ett väldigt intressant och speciellt hotel med fantastisk utsikt, en restaurang med bra mat och frukost med utsikt over Magiorresjön.

Servizi bassa qualità. Camera con luce scarsa. Acqua calda con boiler 50 litri mia moglie ha fatto la doccia con 40 litri e a me mi sono rimasti 10 litri!! E ho finito la doccia con l'acqua fredda... e la proprietaria voleva farci pagare la colazione che era inclusa... Non ho parole.. l'unica cosa... la bella vista dal balcone..

Siamo a 1000 mt , raggiungibili solo tramite Funivia e vi assicuriamo che anche l 'acqua , che riusciamo peraltro a non farla mai mancare a non farla mai mancare ,ha difficoltà ad arrivare fin qui . Io , faccio la doccia, due shampo ed un balsamo ed ho i capelli lunghi ce la faccio bene con l'acqua che c'è ed avanza calda anche per un altra doccia . Anche perchè il boiler scalda in continuo e dopo un quarto d'ora , ci sono altri 50 lt di acqua calda . Il piano tariffario da voi scelto, peraltro a bassissimo prezzo, riportava NOT REF BB ce significa colazione esclusa . In ogni caso ci spiace vi siate trovati così male e vi preghiamo di non venire più perchè ci spiace davvero far star male le persone. Cari saluti,Paola

Nuitée en altitude
Etape en famille ou l'hôtel est situé a 1000 mètres d'altitude et l'accessibilité ce fait en funiculaire ( tarif non compris dans le prix de la nuitée et compter 20 minutes de montée) attention a ceux qui ont le vertige. Personnel très gentils, chambre un peu vieillot malgré les quelques efforts de modernisation de l'hôtelier. Nuitée a faire.

Absolument original!
Séjour toujours très original, puisqu'on y est comme dans un refuge de haute montagne...isolé à partir de 19 heures et bloqués jusqu'à...10 heures du matin, heure de départ de la benne, seul moyen d'aller rejoindre la voiture. Un accueil merveilleux, familial, un point de vue exceptionnel sur le lac, des biches et des renards aperçus en montant vers l'hôtel. Nourriture extra.Beaucoup d'attentions du personnel et de la propriétaire.Les lits grincent un peu...TV en français( France 24 et Télé 5 monde) Le vrai problème est l'heure tardive de démarrage de la benne, qui empêche de commencer les excursions avant 10h30, ce qui handicape pas mal le séjour.

1. Erlebnis ist mal die Auffahrt mit der Seilbahn . Wer mit dem Auto anreist , muss sein Auto auf den Parkplatz der Bergstation abstellen . Das Hotel kann nur mit der Seilbahn erreicht werden , oder zu Fuss natürlich . Die Zimmer sind ok . Allerdings der Standard erinnert stark an die 70 er Jahre .Sauberkeit ist sehr gut zu bewerten Die Aussicht des 1000 hohen Bergs ist atemberaubend schön . Gute Wandermöglichkeiten .Gute Bewirtung im Restaurant . Frühstück in der Cafeteria . Angebot könnte unserer Meinung nach ein wenig üppiger ausfallen . Ein wenig Obst , oder zumindest ein Ei oder Spiegelei mit Schinken dürfte eigentlich gern auf dem Frühstücksbuffet anzutreffen sein . Die Belegschaft ist immer sehr freundlich gewesen und gewisse Wünsche wurden promt erledigt .Am Tag verweilten wir in der Umgebung und genossen die Italienische Küche und erlabten uns an den äusserst köstlichen Gaces . Wenn man in der Umgebung flaniert , sollte man aber unbedingt die Seilbahn Öffnungszeiten im Kopf Haben . Denn von 11 Uhr Bis 18 Uhr innerhalb von Werktagen ist das doch sehr begrenzt . Ingesamt fanden wir es gut , allerdings auch nicht mehr .

Anlände sent på kvällen med familjen, trötta & slitna. Såg nåt som lyste på bergstoppen. "Där UPPE är vårt hotell mamma"! Hojtade barnen.... Och ja, linbanan (som jag/vi inte visste om...) tog oss upp till vårt hotell för natten. Lovade mig själv att aldrig göra om det. Linbanan alltså. När vi kom upp var det jubel & barnen var lyriska. En underbar kvinna som tog emot oss, förstod "mammans mentala läge" och erbjöd familjen "nånting att dricka....;)". Ja tack. Och, jag hade överlevt;). Kan bara säga Missa INTE denna unika plats/ boende. Måste upplevas:)!!!!

Situation géographique exceptionnelle avec un super beau temps qui a permis une vision magnifique sur le lac et les lacs alentours et même un aperçu de Milan....juste que l'ascension avec le funiculaire est impressionnant et qu'il aurait fallu que ce soit mieux explicite à la réservation. J'ai un vertige maladif mais je n'ai pas voulu pénaliser mes amis et j'ai donc fait le voyage accroupi... Malgré cela c'était fantastique !

la montée en téléphérique est géniale, le site est magnifique, randonnée jusqu'au sommet et vue sur plusieurs lacs, superbe, 1 chamois rencontré, repas au restau: lasagnes extra, boeuf aussi, hamburger nul. tiramisu super. la chambre reste simple, minimaliste , mais chaines télé françaises, on y va pour le site surtout.

hôtel vieillissant mais entretenu, l'accès par le téléphérique est original, l'accueil est chaleureux et sincère, le cadre magnifique, la cuisine italienne y est excellente, la terrasse à 1000 m d'altitude est un dépaysement total.

Die Umgebung und die Aussicht sind traumhaft, jedoch ist das Hotel stark renovierungsbedürftig. Die sanitären Einrichtungen wurden nicht richtig geputzt, so dassSeifen- und Oxidationsrückstände sowie Verunreinigungen deutlich sichtbar waren.

Super Lage. Tolles Gleitschirmrevier. Überwiegend nettes Personal. Sehr gutes Essen. Und die Zimmer sind absolut okay. Luxus darf man nicht erwarten, aber allein der Blick von der zimmereigenen Terrasse ist den Preis wert.
