Needs some more care

Posted Aug 21, 2016
Beautiful building in a lovely, large park, but the facilities need much more care. Paint peeling in the bathroom; tons of mildew in the outdoor pool. Price is too high for the quality provided. This could be a great property, but it needs better management. Good pizzeria.

very nice Hotel close to Milan Malpensa Airport

Posted Mar 2, 2016
Pros: compared to staying at a boring hotel close to malpensa or being stuck in Milan traffic the night before a flight, you can't beat this place. l
Cons: all good. maybe a small remodeling but otherwise perfect
the property is beautiful (old castle on a lake) and is 20 minutes drive from Malpensa airport. Food was excellent and the place gorgeous. highly recommended

Beautiful old mansion turned into a hotel

Posted Sep 14, 2015
Pros: Has a charming character of its own
Cons: Door opening mechanism needs attention
Spacious rooms with well appointed bathroom and massage shower. Restaurant offerings were above average with a good wine list. Friendly staff and overall pleasant stay. Really quick access (20 minutes) by car to Malpensa airport.

Excellent old style Villa in Italy.

Posted Jul 7, 2015
Pros: Feel and history. Excellent food.
Location: Nice town and great for getting away. Beautiful lake to walk beside.
Excellent room, great food, and ambience. The only negative was that it was really not that close to the MXP airport - but then again, nothing that we found like this was.

A true Italian hotel.

Posted Jan 25, 2015
The hotel were very accommodating to both our needs of a room suitable for travelling with a toddler and a disabled guest. The room was very spacious and every detail of the hotel had an Italian feel about it. The food was very tasty. My little boy had his first experience sleeping in a cot bed which he loved. Luckily he is old enough as this was the only option for babies although he did fall out once in the night. Really enjoyed our stay here, highly recommend it.

Nice villa / hotel not too far from Milan Malpensa

Posted Jun 12, 2014
Pros: Nice grounds, very quiet, large comfortable room with a pretty view of the garden and the lake.
Cons: The staff is helpful but the hotel is understaffed, so when one guest's needs are tended to, service stops and the phones ring unanswered for minutes
Overall pleasant stay. Staff arranged for airport pick up (60 Euros) and was very accommodating, letting us check in early. Beautiful villa, nice grounds, quiet, partial lake view. Excellent first rest stop, if you are not in a hurry - the place is not particularly convenient to Milan. Most suitable for wedding and events, possibly small to mid-size corporate retreats (they have both the space and the facilities - albeit not very high-tech from what I could observe). If the hotel can guarantee adequate staffing levels, it could be a great choice. There are several golf courses in the vicinity and several beautiful lakes within a few miles.

Beautiful hotel

Posted Apr 7, 2014
Pros: The overall feeling generated by beautiful rooms, antique furniture but also comfortable with a very modern (but complicated!) shower.
Cons: The gardens could do with a little work.
Location: Very close to a lake so plenty of walks and cycle rides if one wishes. Unfortunately we were only there for one night.
We loved this place. It is sympathetically restored and maintains all the atmosphere of a grand residence from the past.

Great hotel for quiet break and gentle sightseeing

Posted Oct 19, 2012
This hotel has undergone a wonderful, sympathetic refurbishment. Our room, a junior suit, was divine - double aspect with superb outlooks. The seating area was most comfortable with a couple of tables as well as a desk and chair. The extra large bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in with the sheets very soft and luxurious. The bathroom was almost unbelievable, so large, splendid linens and toiletries. The bedroom flooring was original woodblock and the bathroom flooring was beautifully matched old ceramic tiles. No fine detail had been spared. The dining room and breakfast room were comfortable, the food good and the service was very discreet - at times almost too discreet. Location was very convenient and it was close to other restaurants and within easy reach of major routes.
