Hotel Regina Palace, Stresa
Close to amenties, bathroom facilities rather small not suitable for larger people eg shower, bath. On arrival room and bed linen felt damp, room cold, no facilities to heat room, staff tried their best to accommodate. No tea/coffee facilities in room.

Nice room. Excellent outdoor area and pool. Convenient for walking into town. Easy Parking. Staff Very Good. Bathroom flooded when taking a shower. Breakfast Average, but good choice.

The hotel is in the centre of Stresa and opposite the main square / small departure points for the boats. It is a grand hotel and the appearance is magnificent. Room was Very nice, Spa was good and breakfast was good too. Things that should be improved: - the outdoor swimming pool / jacuzzi water temperature is more suitable for bears and penguins. For such an hotel, it is unacceptable not to have the water slightly heated at least - bathrooms are on the smaller side and bits of it needs TLC

Stunning location, beautiful hotel with friendly , helpful, attentive staff. Matteo was fantastic greeting us in the morning making us feel welcome. Fabulous meal in the Charlston and Simone made the most amazing crepes.

What a wonderful hotel! It was every bit as beautiful as the pictures. Our room was charming, and overlooked the lake. It was very early in the season, so only one restaurant was open for supper, but the food was delicious and the service impeccable. The breakfast buffet was wonderful and the Sporting Club facilities were great. I will recommend this place to everyone I know!

A touch of La Belle Epoque
Beautiful, classy hotel. Staff were generally excellent, with special mention to the lady behind the bar who made the best Irish coffee I've ever had. Loved the touch of the carousel of vintage cars brought out to add even more glamour.

Fabulous !! Wouldn’t stay anywhere else
Stayed here for 2 nights as a single parent with a 10yr old. Cannot fault this hotel at all. We had a lake view room with 2 balconies, the room was very old fashioned in a good way with gold leaf on the ceilings and heavy curtains like you’d find in a stately home. The staff are very friendly and welcoming , and the outside pool is the best we have ever used. Fabio the pool guy greets you with towels and a smile every morning and he works hard to keep the pool area spotlessly clean. No fighting for sunloungers at this hotel , it’s all very refined and civilised. If it’s raining the indoor pool is amazing too , designed as a cave even with sand effect, shells and starfish on the pool floor for effect ( it’s all under resin so is flat and smooth to walk on ). Towels are provided. Location is perfect for everything Stresa has to offer , literally 5 minutes along the promenade to the shops and ferry service. Breakfast is buffet continental and is lovely out on the terrace. One thing to note is there are no tea/ coffee making facilities in the rooms , I think it’s something to do with wiring and plug sockets locations but it didn’t bother us not having this facility. Check out is 11am but they have a luggage room to store bags if you want to use the pool on your last day. I can’t stress how good this hotel is , if we return to Stresa we definitely will choose this hotel again

Five nights in Stresa...
Fabulous old hotel, lovely building, generally well maintained. Staff were great - though we were a bit discomfited by the way the senior barman seemed to pressurise a young female server one evening... Room was lovely though we had some teething problems with the safe (needed a new battery),the hairdryer (just didn't work) and the aircon (needed an explanation that it doesn't come on if windows in the main room are open). Breakfast was great - really good choice and service. Staff at breakfast generally were excellent. Outdoor pool: bit chilly, but OK given the high temperatures while we were there - and the hotel provides towels which is a nice touch. And the availability of sunbeds was great. Indoor pool: nice and warm but really dark environment which I personally didn't like much. Stresa is a nice town and Lake Maggiore is a magical place. So great to be there again. So, Regina Palace as a whole: it's not cheap, but it's very good. Much recommended.

Excellent location on the edge of the lake, close to numerous restaurants and ferry terminal. Hotel facilities were very good with large outdoor & indoor swimming pools, spa facilities etc. Staff very friendly and helpful.

A beautiful hotel with a 'Belle Epoque' style, ideally located in front of the Lake and very closed to the city. The garden is great as well as the outdoor pool. The indoor pool with sauna is also a nice surprise ! Very good breakfast. The only thing negative I noticed was the room not perfectlly clean (closet and floor).

Grand, old hotel
We were very impressed with the looks of the hotel. The amazing garden and the almost royal appearance of the lobby is stunning. Breakfast was varied and tasty. However, the shower/bath glass side plate, which should have sealed the water flow and keep it from running out, did not work at all. As a result, the whole bathroom floor was flooded every time we took a shower. Very inconvenient.
