Nice hotel with lots of amenities

Posted Aug 29, 2015
Pros: Everything!
Cons: It would be nice if there was complimentary coffee in the lobby. The free apples and cookies were delicious though!
Location: We hiked the VIC at Paul Smith College, went on the Lake Placid Boat Tour and ate at lots of great restaurants.
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel in Lake Placid. We used all of the free amenities. We swam in one of the beautiful outdoor pools, used the kayaks, paddleboat and the rowboat. The hotel is right in the town so we could walk to everything. The staff was very friendly and the rooms were very clean.

Amazing view and central location

Posted Aug 26, 2015
Spent two nights with our son at the resort and we were very pleasantly surprised. Our room overlooked one of the outdoor pools and had an amazing view of Mirror Lake and the mountains, the room was comfortable and the bathroom was nicely decorated. There are two outdoor pools, one lakeside and one within the hotel complex as well as an indoor pool with hot-tub. There are also free kayaks, pedal-boats and row-boats at the lakeside pool. We ate on the deck at the Dancing Bears and had a very enjoyable meal with firefly, efficient service. Overall a very pleasant, economical getaway in a gorgeous location.

Excellent parking , close to everything, beautiful

Posted Aug 23, 2015
Pros: Perfect location and the free parking is a bonus.
Cons: Need more hours or a bigger SPA, it's very busy.
Location: Hiking is close and good, tale the Lake Placid boat tour, it's worth it if you get Captain Cook.
Fabulous view of the mountains and lake, very easy to access all that Lake Placid has to offer.

Nice resort located in heart of Lake Placid

Posted Aug 21, 2015
Cons: * Nice outdoor pool, but it closes way too early at 7 pm. * Need more chairs and umbrellas at pool * Wi-Fi dreadfully slow
Overall we were pleased with the High Peaks Resort. The overall experience was that of a higher end hotel with reasonable rates. * Large clean room with contemporary decor * Granite surfaces throughout * Large bathroom with walk in shower * Flat screen TV * Balcony with a great view of Mirror Lake and mountains * Convenient parking

Relaxing and just as promised.

Posted Aug 21, 2015
Pros: Pretty much everything. We would return.
Cons: Front desk staff and concierge were friendly but seemed a little undertrained. Info on facility could have been easier to get.
Location: Lake and hiking. Small galleries and museums. shopping. If you're willing to go 70 miles or so some better museums and a garnet mine to tour.
Lovely hotel. We were not in the building on the lake but had a great view. Staff was friendly and professional and the deck restaurant was quite good. On line descriptions make it look lakeside and surrounded by nature. In truth it is downtown - easy walking to shops restaurants a movie theater, etc. 2 restaurants mean you can choose family setting or more upscale.

Zentrales Hotel in Lake Placid

Posted Aug 19, 2015
Sehr reizvolle Landschaft.Viele Sportmöglichkeiten.
Das Hotel liegt zentral in Lake Placid. Die Zimmer sind groß und modern. Der Balkon hat Ausblick auf Pool, See und Berge. Leider ist kein Frühstück inklusive.
