Great lodging in South Lake TahoePosted Oct 27, 2015
I would certainly recommend the Alder Inn to anyone who wants comfort along with a reasonable price. The furnishings are modern with all the extras that make it feel like home. Chris was very helpful with suggestions of sights to see along with directions. We'll definitely stay there again on our next trip to South Lake Tahoe!

Nice quite place but close to Heavenly areaPosted Oct 17, 2015
We stayed in Alder for two nights. The second night it had power and water outage. Ali the front staff not only gave everyone full refund for the night, but also offered us free breakfast at Red Hut restaurant. The room is nicely decorated and clean. It also has bikes free of charge. We really appreciate Ali's good gesture under the unfortunate incident.

Cute little independently owned placePosted Sep 29, 2015
Really enjoyed the Alder Inn. Great location close to good restaurants and lake. The manager (Chris?) and his dog were very personable. Only negatives were the pool was closed for season even though temps were in the high 80s during the day, and the 1 day we had housekeeping come in to clean, she didn't take out our recyclable bottles; I just found that odd..the deck on the 2nd level was relaxing and there was a hot tub. Would stay again!

Please fix the hot waterPosted Sep 28, 2015
The room was appointed nicely even though it is an older facility. The biggest draw back to staying here was that either the ceiling is paper thin, or the people staying upstairs were incredibly noisey. it also didn't help that the poor hot water regulation almost caused my wife to get burned. if you stay here, get an upstairs room and be wary of the HWT!

Liked it a lot.Posted Aug 29, 2015 on Hotels
The Alder Inn is in a great location, central but quiet. We used the free bikes a lot to see the local sights. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Great little coffee machines in the room and the Jacuzzi was perfect. Price was reasonable. Did not seem to have any air-conditioning in our room but did have a portable fan which did the trick. Would definitely stay there again.

Very Close to center of town, well appointed.Posted Aug 23, 2015
Location is excellent. Room has fridge, microwave, keurig coffee maker, rustic but appropriate decor. Ice machine (by the office) was generous. Bed was comfortable. Room. Was clean. Only possible shortcoming: no air cond. offset because windows opened. I had slept day before at a marriott in carson city and frankly slept better there (at the marriott), not sure why. I would come back though.
