Electricity got burned out. Door locks need to be changed. Outdated. Room size, Parking in front of door, location and proximity to ski resort was great.

Ok place to stayPosted Mar 20, 2015
Pros: Ability to bring your pet with you.
Cons: Pet policy should mention if you are paying extra for the pet. I paid $20 for the pet
I was looking for a place to stay with a dog. We were going to be out most of the time so I wasn't looking for any frills, just a clean place to stay with comfortable beds and space. This place met our expectations. Only thing I didn't quite get is that on arrival, my check-in papers indicated that I'd pay $150 fine if I was bringing pets. When I told them that I found it on Expedia that it was mentioned as pets allowed, they charged me $20 extra for bringing my dog. I don't mind paying extra for the dog but I just like to know this upfront. And why the double-standards? Other than that, I'd be willing to stay there again.

Horrible neighbors, walls are very thin so be ready to hear them. Beds are hard and not comfortable. Overall clean and small bathroom was OK. We actually decided to go back home early and not spend another night there. Would not come back. Staff was friendly.

weekend tripPosted Mar 13, 2015 on Hotels
We came to Tahoe for a weekend snowboarding trip. The hotel is conveniently located amongst grocery stores and restaurants which was very nice. I read reviews from prior guests and saw that the lighting in the room may be dim, but I did not think it would be an issue. The lighting isn't just dim, it is practically non-existent! Once we opened the blinds the light was sufficient in the morning, but the room was very very dark in the evening. It is an old hotel without many frills, but as we weren't in the room very often, it was fine. It was nice to have a mini-fridge, microwave, and free wifi available in the room. It seems like many hotels today charge for wifi! It is a decent stay for the price.

Overpriced for quality.Posted Mar 12, 2015 on Hotels
Easy to find. Staff was nice, made us "secret" waffles for breakfast not offered at the breakfast bar. Parking is right outside of your room door. You cross the street and are at the lake. Walking distance to everything in Tahoe City and only 10 minutes to Squaw Valley Resort. Rooms have vaulted ceilings so it doesn't feel as claustrophobic. The price for the room quality is outrageous and should be 1/2 of what it is. Room was obviously dirty but smelled very heavily of bleach, enough to get a headache. Room was very, very small. There was someone else's hair in-between the sheets and dust flew off the bed when we sat down. The fridge was so loud we had to turn it off to sleep and was dirty inside. The only chair in the room was broken, no table. The heater was very loud as well and had to be turned off to sleep, no AC. Water stains ran down every wall. The walls are paper thin and you can hear everything from other guests to traffic on the busy road. The office is super small, with room for only 2 people to sit (uncomfortably) and eat breakfast. Breakfast was way less than what you'd expect for what you pay. They had hard boiled eggs, instant oatmeal, 1 type of cereal, bread to make toast and a jar of jam. They also had tea and coffee and some apples and oranges on the front desk. Beds were very uncomfortable, even our 9 and 4 year-old complained in the morning. Overall it worked for what we needed (being close to the ski hill) but we would not stay here again.

Clean and warm room with Internet. What more do you need when you're going to spend your whole day not in your room?

Pros: Breakfast was good and lady on the reception was polite. Good location, close to Safeway and squaw valley resort.
Cons: Cleanliness, low noise, lights more table and chair and professionalism
Location: Very close Squaw valley, beach
Not very good experience. Constant sound made impossible to sleep. Room no 4 was not clean. Pillows were cheap. No furniture to keep luggage. Table Lamp light did not work. Picture provided in description is fake and highly Photoshop ed. I felt cheated after paying lot of money, hotel was very bad in condition. try to canceled my reservation at 4;00 am. to find another hotel.

If it's inexpensive -- there's a reason.Posted Feb 23, 2015
Pros: The heater worked well.
Cons: Customer service. A smile. Sympathy. Accepting responsibility. A sense that the owner cares. Updated plumbing.
Location: It's Tahoe. It's lovely.
Slightly skankier than I had wanted. Several "long-term" tenants didn't help. One neighbor had a dog that barked every 9 seconds while he was out for the evening. We had a leaky shower that dripped, nay, poured all night and made the whole bathroom wet. Desk clerk (who also lives behind the curtain with repairman husband) clearly has no interest in the hospitality industry. Which is fine, it's not for everyone, and she is there to collect payment and point out the Svenhardt pastries for breakfast. Her repairman husband worked on our shower and reduced it to a constant trickle. Which felt like a HUUUGE gesture and improvement. The kicker was when we returned the second day and our room had not been cleaned. We told the clerk and she shrugged, "Yeah, the cleaning lady called in sick today." I asked for 10% off that night because I cleaned my own room -- since they pocketed the money they would have paid the cleaning lady. After 3 visits to the desk, 3 phone calls and several weeks of zero response from owner, I noticed a refund of ten whole bucks on my credit card bill. Cool. Thanks. Still have a taste in my mouth though.
