Started out nice, quickly degraded
Posted Sep 9, 2016
Everything started out great, we checked in, got some tasty check-in Champaign, and the room was very nice; complete with many commentary niceties. But during the four days we stayed, things kept getting progressively worse.
First, the bed had this wonderful down comforter that was a joy to sleep in. However there was a hole on the bottom of it so we woke to a room full of feathers. We called up house keeping to report this, and they just went we normal made service. They removed all the sheets and the blankets but they never replaced them. So, around 8pm we called up again to tell them that, to which they promptly send us these sand paper blankets. After trying to explain to the guy that we wanted the down comforter for ten minutes, I gave up and surrendered for the night. The next two days we tried again, and for some reason they did not understand what we were asking. We ended up with six sand paper blankets. We could have made a big stink and tried to get a manager, but it's not worth getting that frustrated while on vacation.
The other main thing was that all the staff seemed to generally hate their job. This would have been fine if we only stayed for a day, but four days of being around depressed staff, depresses you.
Other more minor things included that there was litter almost everywhere. Food wrappers, small pieces of glass, etc. Also, the price of everything was just above reasonable, which would have been fine if the service was up to stuff.
