Close to event I was attending. Poorly maintained. Repairs not performed. Noisy clientele, single payne windows, bath flooring linoleum had a hole with lino peeled up right in the walkway. Tub spigot leaked continously, toilet flush valve always stuck , so I felt it necessary to open toilet tank and unstick the valve so it would stop running. Thin walls. One can hear everything going on outside If you just need a bed to sleep, and don't care about the rest then ok.

there was no air condition in the room. In the evening the sun came in through the window and the room got hot. The stairs to the room were not working so we had to walk around to get to our room. The price I paid was not worth the room we got. Sorry. Armida Soares

Wi fi was good, Tv real poor. Only has cable type channels, nothing local. no news or weather. Older place right out of the 70's except shag carpet. Wi fi a little skitzy when place was full. Able to stream when not full. location is good. Water pressure is good and hot water was fine.

Cheaper resort motel
Old motel with no air conditioning. With windows open to cool off the room, it was noisy. TV had few channels that worked. Housekeeping was minimal

Not well cared for
The inn has a lot of potential, but the price is way too high for the condition it is in. The room smelled like fried food, the bathroom was not very clean and had tears in the floor, and the carpet had rips in it. The inn still has a lot of it's original charm, but it's obvious that no one has cared for it.

Perfect fit
My kids and I werent looking for anything fancy. We were up in South Lake for Fathers Day Weekend and just needed a place to sleep and clean up after our day out in South Lake. The Ambassador was the perfect fit for our needs. Will be staying again in the future.

The windows did not have blinds to cover the lights out at night and the pool was not available for us. There was also no AC unit in the room. We got a free pass for a private beach which was only a 5 minute walk. I booked through a 3rd party for 2 nights and I got a call from the front office stating that check out was at 11am and that my things were inside the room still. I had to call the third party to make sure that I would not be charged for an additional night even though I paid for 2 nights already. I will not be staying here again.

I got there my room wasn't ready and I had to wait an hour for a room they put me in a room that didn't have cable and the wifi was really poor. The manager excuse was that they didn't have enough employees to have the rooms ready for the clients.

There has been a change in management. Last year's stay at exactly this time for the exact same length which was one week, cost us $450. This year it was $1,205. Maria the hotel manager said it was because we went through hotels.com. I went through hotels.com last year. The place is really run down. She said they hadn't been paying the cable bill so we only had two channels, if that. The faucet leaked, the thermostat was broken, the room decor was extremely outdated. Our key to the ice machine room did not work. The vending machine had a note on it that said see office for snacks. The staff leaves at 2 p.m. plus they were closed on Wednesday and Thursday and Saturday. The note taped to the office door gave an emergency number and a personal number. When we tried both those numbers, we never got a response. We did not want maid service, but they came one day anyway and took a bag of my personal wash rags that I had brought. I left a message for the manager and she never got back to me. With the Renaissance Festival and America's Most Beautiful Bike ride going on at this time, the rooms should be completely full. The parking lot had maybe 10 cars in it for this busy weekend. The website advertised a swimming pool, which had no water in it. Outside, the garbage cans needed to be emptied, and ashtrays were full and overflowing. This is our fourth year in a row that we have stayed here. This year's stay was so unsatisfactory that we will not come back to Ambassador Motor Lodge.

hi we gave you an upgrae to a kitchen room that you had only booked a 2 queen standard room we are upgrading to charter for more channels and i did say our antenna fron direct tv had been moved due to the snow we are open saturday we do take off two days and we could not give you maid service because you had a dog in room wich also we didnt gcharge for its $10 dollars per day for the dog and we didnt charge the pool wasnt opened yet due to wheather we cant control mother nature it has still been raining and even snowing at times sorry about that but we are trying to get it up and running we were not full and not even the other hotels were full also due to whether people are not coming to tahoe i also told you of a better rate next time you come i did everything i could to make you happy and there were no complains from you while you were here if we would of known about the problems we could of done something thank you

Check in was great, friendly But office closed at 4pm and was back in office until Sunday Morning. So any complaint after like no cable tv in the 2 rooms could not be fixed Thank goodness that was the only thing.

Dont go there
The hotel was very old and run down, the room smelt and i daren't take a shower due to the condition it was in. The toilet did not flush, the tv had no signal and the WIFI was rubbish

MUST BE A LAST MINUTE/LAST RESORT STAY
Terrible stay. I'm a very understanding person when it comes to the service industry. But when I had use coffee stirrers to plug a hole on the the shower head in order for my son to take a shower it did it for me. Unless you have absolutely NO OTHER OPTION spend your money some where else. By the looks of it.... it's being run down until unsafe to occupy. Not sure how any website can list it.

Terrible room was dirty and out dated, i wouldn't mind it being outdated but it was dirty and not maintained. It said there was a continental breakfast but there isn't. When we when to eat breakfast the first morning the office was locked and no one was there. The sigh said they would be back at 9:30am way past the time we needed to eat, so we had to drive into town and find breakfast for ower selfs. This completely ruins the good peice of the motel. On top of that there is a big whole in the carpet and the bathroom was trashed, trim missing and broken around the door, toilet rain all the time didnt stop, the shower dripped all the time and mold was growing on the bathroom floor. The curtains didn't blackout any light. Location was good but would never book again.

sorry you were not happy we have breakfast on weekends we open the office at 9am and we are there breakfast is the room next to office there is a sign that says breakfast we clean our rooms everyday and you didnt say anything about toilet running or leaks please let us know about problems so we can fix them when you are here but if we dont know about problem we cant fix it thank you

Practical place for a short stay
Lobby is only open 9-7pm. I didn't realize this until we got there at 8:30pm and weren't sure how to check in. I had a bit of a panic attack until we noticed the note they left, telling us how to check in (phew). We checked out before 9 the next day so we ended up never seeing the staff... We also couldn't find their breakfast (I'm guessing it starts at 9, when the lobby opens). The room was decent though. It could use some updating, but it was very clean and practical. Bed was a little uncomfortable but was ok (also acknowledging the price). Convenient location close to South lake Tahoe / Heavenly, though it's still a bit of a walk if you're planning to go to the gondola in your snow gear.

we have breakfast on weekends and the office is open at 9am you say nobody at office but you complained to the office we have basic cable and are working to upgrade we have rooms with micro and fridge not all rooms depending on what you booked but if you booked a standard room they dont have micro and fridge there is a coffee maker in all rooms so you did have coffee sorry you were not happy our rooms are clean and we could of fixed anything in room if we would of known of problem as far as i know you just were not happy with cable being the basic you didnt let front desk know of anything else

The staff is very nice and pleasant to deal with. Everything you want in the room is there. However, the building is clearly aging. But they're working on it. If you're looking to save money for a short stay, and you don't mind, go for it. The location is very convenient. If you're trying to impress your lady go elsewhere.

Room heating system is a MESS!. Room was heated to uncomfortable conditions. We have to change room and still need to open all windows to keep room temperature to a reasonable level. General room condition and breakfast need to be improved. Need to have some one at least up to 10PM to address issues. They close office 7PM with no easy way to get help.

thank you for your review we did everything we could for you you were never happy we chanched sheets and move you to a different room you guys were not happy out of 59 rooms rented that day you were the only one not happy sir breakfast is good we have potatoes eggs bread orange juice and milk bagels cereal i dont know what we need to improve on im sorry you didnt like staying here we tried everything and still you were not happy you guys even wanted us to move furniture around in the rooms and take furniture out im sorry we could not do that for you and you wanted a slave and we dont have those here sorry again but we bend over backwards for you and we could not make you happy

Heater would not get above 65° in the middle of a 6 day snow storm. Office said it runs a off hit water...No cable channels came thru, only Direct TV logo. Office said they are aware but dont know why. It was never fixed. Parking lot was never plowed. People getting stuck in snow daily.

our heaters work we olso offered a space heather some people are not used to the cold so its not enough temperature at 75 in room and because of the snow the signal for cable goes out we dont have control over that sorry our parking got plowed but due to the heavy storm it acumulates fast sorry for the inconveniance but we try our best and do what is possible to fix thwe problems just some are hard to fix due to mother nature

It took me two hours shoveling snow so I could drive 80' to get my car out of their parking lot. As I was about to leave an elder couple caught my attention and I helped them get out of their room as they were locked in all night long because the door handle broke. Plus the window jammed. There wasn't any staff answering the phone or onsite.

hi you left really early in the morning so the person that plows snow comes like around 8am there is a number that is on the door for emergency and the window was not jammed they didn't know how to open the lock and the door handle was not broken it was frozen due to wheather there are some things that we just cant do its tahoe and it does snow alot so people need to be prepared to shovel snow or put chains on if needed but those are things that are out of our hands everything in the rooms we can do and there doesn't seem to be a problem with your room and whether we just cant fix but as long as everything in the room is ok we are doing our job thank you

The price was right for the busy season and quite close to all the shops and restaurants. It’s not fancy by any means but the staff is very friendly and helpful. It’s perfect for anyone on a budget. Lots of parking too.

Horrible experience
Got to the hotel, sat out front for 20 minutes trying to get ahold of manager so that I could get a key for my room, got into the room, there was stains on my sheets and the bed was poorly made, bathroom was dirty and hotel room smelled dirty. Tape around the doors from painting, immediately called the manager complaining and she refused to give me a refund after I decided I didn’t want to stay there any longer. Horrible experience.

you got here at 2:00 am and was given a key you called 45 min later and complained about room and i said no refunds you had been in room for 45 min wet the next morning and checked room there was no stain on sheet or anything dirty you only used the bed and left but did use the room thank you

The room was clean and staff were friendly. It was hard to sleep due to noisy people at night. I was also disappointed that we had to pay for a night when we couldn't get back to South Lake Tahoe due to a snow storm when the road was closed.

The heater did not work! (It is winter and snowing) no ironing bored. Dirty towels. Thin blankets. Cobb webs. Crooked headboard. Dirty phone. Front desk did not answer when I called. Room light didnt work had a hanging lamp in corner that was dull.

as far as we know our heathers work if you have a problem with anything in room let us know we can fix it we have ironing boards at the office you just need to ask all our light work we have the fan lights and the other two lamps in room also so there is plenty of light in rooms we need to know about all this so we can fix it we didnt get any complains thank you
