Great Location, Noisy Rooms.

Posted Feb 2, 2016
I stayed at the hotel during a ski trip. Convenient location, friendly staff, clean rooms. The major drawback was lack of proper insulation and privacy, so much that I could hear my neighbors conversations. The hotel felt like a 3 rather than a 4 star hotel.

Great hotel but fell short

Posted Feb 1, 2016
Pros: The beds were ridiculously comfortable and we liked having the kitchen in our room
Location: Squaw Valley about a 15 minute ride either Olympic Village and Tahoe City. Tahoe city great for shopping and seeing the beautiful lake.
I am disappointed to say that nothing was as it was the first time I stayed here. The day we arrived we decided we would eat at Sandy's Pub. In the menu book provided in the room, it stated that Sandy's would serve until 11pm. It was a Friday night. Tired from a day of travel, we strolled down at 10:10pm. Sign stated to seat yourselves, so we did. A few minutes later the manager came over and said the kitchen was closed. What?? This is a Friday night in a RESORT! So we had to go to the deli, the only thing open at this time. The resort also had these great outdoor fireplaces but were only lit every other day. Monday, we decide to eat at Six Peaks Grille. Can you guess what happens next? CLOSED!! Only open on the weekends!! This is PRIME ski time and we have 4 people in our group and we're stuck here for the week with basically ONE restaurant/basically a pub available to us, unless we go offsite. Although our room was beautiful, we all felt majorly disappointed in not having full access to all restaurants and amenities. If they had only told us this before we visited, we would at least know what to expect. Even when we asked when we checked in whether or not we needed reservations for Six Peaks (we were told it was very busy) and we said, we'll try Monday then, nobody informed us it was closed for the week.

Love the Ski in-out service. Ski valet and the spa

Other than the cost of food this place is perfect if you want to ski at Squaw Valley. Great service and location.

Enjoyed ski on ski off and spa facilities

Posted Jan 22, 2016
Pros: the room was nice, the spa was nice but on a freezing night showers and lockers by the pools would be nice.
Cons: staff, morale!
Our hotel stay was great however a number of staff we encountered were not all that great. Our check in person had barely a command of English and did not seem to understand half of what I was saying, a lot of smiling and "Yes, Yes" but no follow up. I inquired about an Expedia exclusive amenity that I received but the receptionist did not understand what I was talking about despite showing him the email. He promised to follow up with his boss but I never heard anything. The bar staff at Sandy's Pub were unfriendly and sullen on the two occasions I was there. While in the spa a number of locker keys went missing and the staff were completely incompetent and could not seem to help the guests to access their lockers or help locate the keys, apparently there was no master key!

Great!!!!

Other than the restaurant being down, was great! Should note that you MUST be a solid intermediate skier to handle the ski in-out part of the hotel.

Everything we could ask for!

Location was unbeatable, steps from the chair lift at Squaw Valley ski resort. Great spa and exercise facility. Lobby, great room and staff all befitting of a world class mountain resort. Room was perfectly adequate but a little dated.

Great location and good facilities poor service

Posted Jan 4, 2016
The hotel was clearly at peak capacity and felt like the whole service side of things was being held together by band aids and string rather than professional trained staff. All Restaurants were booked and wait times of over 2 hours for a table. Poor housekeeping meant running out of toiletries and toilet paper and having to chase for more. 4 star facilities, 2 star service.

Dear Anonymous, Thanks for posting your comments. I am sorry that you were inconvenienced by the capacity of the hotel. The holidays are a very busy time here at the resort. We do our best to ensure top notch customer service, but restaurants are often very busy and wait times will occur. We have brought your comments to the attention of our housekeeping manager and we will do our best so that it will not happen again. We hope to welcome you back to the Lake Tahoe area again soon. Sincerely, Nick Sponaugle, Hotel Manager
