Location and the property itself is wonderful. Service and staff are disappointing.

First off, this is coming fresh after the Covid-19 shutdown and this being the 2nd weekend that this hotel has been open, the management is very poor. You would think a hotel/resort of this standard would be much more prepared. We found out 2 hours before we got to the property (7 hours into our drive already) that the jacuzzi and pool was shutdown by the city. Did they not check the rules before opening so the guests would know before booking ? Also, they were so short staffed that they could not clean our rooms with zero heads up... so after being gone all day we got to come back to a messy room and the front desk clerk tells us we were the unlucky group that doesn’t get their room cleaned unfortunately. How was this determined?? Was there a drawing or something? We had to request fresh linen, bath products and garbage to be removed by ourselves but stuck with same bed sheets, and nothing wiped down or vacuumed. In addition, simply requesting these services took multiple phone calls. So this is a heads up to the property management ... it’s understood that the current times are making things unorganized but if you’re going to charge guests full prices for everything, then be prepared to give guests that experience. Otherwise, offer a discount or something to make them happy, or at the very least, let them know what to expect before you take their money. I would have given 1 star but the property and rooms are exceptionally great, as well as the hard working staff.
