Nice and convenient lodge/motel

Posted Jun 27, 2016
the room was clean and comfortable with great ac and king size bed plus 2 bunks we didn't need. Front desk staff was very nice and we got to check in early and had our own end of upstairs balcony. I was happy with the room and the price at my late notice for booking. We would go back for sure.

It was fine. Good to get away for a weekend. The room was what I expected but would not have paid over $100 for it. But since we got it 50% off I didn't mind.

Not worth the price paid!

This is definitely a 2 star motel so don't expect any frills. The rooms need to be updated - especially the carpets and bathroom. The room is 'ok' size but the bathroom is very small. One person shower and the shower curtain rod holders are all rusted. The bed was 'ok'. Since it is motel style, it can get noisy outside the door. There was a fridge and microwave in the room so that was nice but there aren't any coffee/tea makers. The office has coffee/tea but even during business hours, there isn't someone there full-time, you have to use the phone outside to have the office girl come in. Continental breakfast for us consisted of the hot drinks and muffins.

Hello Lobat, I am so sorry you did not completely enjoy your stay, here at The Trailhead. Our hotel was built in 1946, and yes, some of the floor plans leave us with smaller bathrooms. I do apologize for any inconvenience. We do try to keep the noise level down, and as you pointed out, a hotel can get noisy. We do offer a variety of muffins, bagels and pastries at our continental breakfast, as well as oatmeal, teas, coffee, cider, and cocoa. Any suggestions on how to improve our continental breakfast, are always welcome. I must apologize that no one let you know that we do have coffee post available for our guest upon requests. Next time, please, let us know and we will make one available to you. Thank you so much for staying at The Trailhead, and providing us with valuable feedback.

Amazing night

First time coming to Tahoe and my boyfriend and I seen this lodge online, both really liked the photos so we booked the room with the spa. The room was clean, the spa felt amazing, premium tv channels for us to watch and relax and enjoy the night we had in Tahoe. Staff at lodge was very friendly and I would highly recommend this place to friends to stay. We really enjoyed this place.

Friendly staff, nice location

Friendly service and the rooms have a pine/mountain feel and the jet tub was awesome! Kind of a funky setup with placement of the tub/shower, but overall was pleased with our room and very convenient location close to Heavenly, gondola, lake and casinos. Also a plus that this place is pet friendly. Downside: limited parking

Charliegirl The Trailhead was built in 1946, and out of 36 rooms we have 32 different lay-outs. Yes, some of them are a little funky, and unique. We are glad you enjoyed your overall stay, and look forward to seeing you again, at the Trailhead.

I loved the room! It was clean and cute. We got a free upgrade to a king size bed. It was a great location, just a couple of blocks from the casinos and ski resort.

I expected a bit more for $$ paid. Staff is Ok, but rooms are old - although everything was working there. For some reason, breakfast starts only at 8am, if you need to leave earlier, you are out of luck.
