Nice hotel close to Squaw/Alpine and Truckee

Posted Mar 3, 2017
Location: Close to Squaw/Alpine for skiing, close to Truckee for shopping/dining, close to Donner Lake for summer activities.
This is a simple, nice hotel right off of I-80, 1 exit from downtown Truckee and about 8 miles from Squaw/Alpine. Much cheaper than staying in Squaw, and gives you more dining opportunities as well. Fridge and microwave in room. Free breakfast.

Close to Boreal and Downtown Truckee

The hotel/motel is good for a night's stay. Like some of the previous reviews- beds are ok not very comfortable. Initial snafu was that even after booking a month before they didn't have our information. We were concerned as it was a weekend night. They didn't want us to call Expedia and they realized that they had our information but hadn't reserved our room. Fortunately the lodge wasn't full and they were indeed able to give us a room. The breakfast area is VERY, VERY CHAOTIC!!!! A super small lobby area with four tables and four couches!!! A super small counter space and you will run over or be run over when getting anything, be it juice, food or silverware. The one person who manages the area deserves tremendous kudos though. Given the crowd, space that she has to work within, she does a fantastic job! Breakfast choices are decent. Hotel location is great. May visit again but will definitely recommend calling to confirm the reservation before you actually get there.

Old outdated hotel two steps from the state park

Posted Feb 20, 2017
Pros: Location
Cons: It should be renovated
Location: Snow is right next hotel. Walkable trails to the Donner Lake
The hotel is old and feels like bigger motel 6. Probably good for families but considering price I doubt it. we had so called "executive" room it had cheap look, old cheap amenities and definetely doesn't worth $300 / night. It was very noisy.

Good Truckee Location

Posted Feb 16, 2017
Pros: Location right off I-80 at edge of Truckee
Cons: Can not think of anything
Location: Snow ski
Have stayed there at least once per ski season for years. Use to be Holiday Inn Express and has changed hands, for the better.
