Excellent accomodation. Clean & well present

Posted May 30, 2016 on Wotif
Cons: Motel was locked and unattended until,1400 hrs. Perhaps this should be stated in the information about the motel.
An excellent accomodation. we would use it again when we visit Taupo.

A nice Motel that doesn't quite live up to its nam

Posted Feb 29, 2016 on Wotif
Pros: The room is well appointed and it was relatively quiet for its location
Cons: The layout of the complex with its entries and exits etc and the net curtains need to go to the top of the windows
Location: This Motel is right across the road from the wonderful lake Taupo and it is only a 10 minute stroll to the town centre.
This is a nice Motel that has a few things that need to be addressed before we would consider going back again. There is a narrow drive that runs the length of the complex. This is bordered by a small wall that only has two entrances to the downstairs units. You walk past other rooms doorways and shuffle along if there is anyone outside enjoying the view of the driveway. This is made even worse if you are in one of the upstairs units because not only do you shuffle past but then you have to squeeze up the tightish stairwell. The nets on the windows only go 3/4 of the way up the window and if you are a room by the stairwell people look over the nets and into your room. The room itself is quite nice and comfortable and well appointed but sadly the other things mentioned above let this place down. The Motel owner is a lovely lady who really wants people to have a nice stay and she goes out of her way to try but the layout lets her down.

Perfect motel next to Lake Taupo:

Posted Feb 13, 2016
Pros: It is spotless and very comfortable. It is very near to the Lake where you can swim. Phillipa offers you beach towels if you wish.
Cons: It is such great value for money and so comfortable that I cannot think of anything to say. There is even a spa bath tub in the bathroom!
Location: It is on the road next to the Lake; there is swimming, eating, walking and plenty of shops. Nearby you have the thermal pools and the various walks.
This is a really first class establishment run by Phillipa, a very warm hearted and professional proprietor. The studio was spotless and well appointed with a table outside for drinks and chat. It is situated very near the lake. Phillipa is very helpful with giving you ideas about where to eat and what to do; nothing is too much for her. A memorable stay and marvelous value for money.

Good location ad accommodation

Posted Feb 12, 2016
Pros: Location, good for main part of town
Location: There are lots of trips from here, if you want Hobbiton or Mauri experience, book in advance to avoid dissapointment
Good place to stay with a pool (heated) spa baths and well appointed. Had some small issues with Internet but it proved to be the service provider issues NOT the hotel set up. Fixed within 24 hours.

Walk out straight to the Lake

Posted Jan 5, 2016 on Wotif
Pros: Lovely staff, Phillipa is the loveliest woman ever and super helpful. Rooms are clean and big.
Location: Lake is across the street. The Tongario Alpine crossing is an hour away (big walk). Huka Falls are nearby and thermal walks (drive to)
Private, clean and very very helpful staff. Phillipa at the front desk recommended a great restaurant for dinner and was very knowledgeable about things we wanted to do and there are heaps of brochures about activities around Taupo. Shops and dining are all within walking distance (about a km) and the lake is just across the road.

Great little place.

Last minute booking for the Half Ironman. The motel owner couldn't have been nicer in allowing the bike into the room, some places don't like you doing that! Bearing in mind it was on the main road it was nice and quiet so sleep wasn't a problem. Highly recommended and would stay here again anytime.

A perfect place to stay

Perfect for us in every way. We loved the spa bath and all of the thoughtful details in the room. Wish had booked for longer.
