Functional but old

Posted Sep 20, 2017
Pros: 5 minutes walk from Good Shepherd church
Cons: Walls are thin so you can hear your neighbours.
Location: Tekapo is a small town so not much you can do besides the lake, church and springs(which is overrated).
Just off the highway and will do for a place for the night. If you have bags, ask for a ground floor unit.

Great view terrible furniture

Posted Sep 15, 2017
Needs a complete refurbish. Lacks basic amenities like a dining table and outdoor table and comfortable chairs. No microwave no hairdryer, inadequate hot water for 3 people to have hot showers. 2 ugly plastic outdoor chairs. No wine glasses. No BBQ facilities. Enjoy the view but don't stay.

Beautiful scenery

Posted Sep 13, 2017
Scenery was spectacular from the window of the room but the noise level from the other customers staying in the hotel was very loud.

Close to Lake Tekapo

Posted Sep 9, 2017
I know this isn't a 5 star property, but the hotel itself is tired, in need of a desperate renovation including repair of broken bathroom tiles and carpet which has worn through to the concrete below. No adjustment either of room temperature which would be handy. Would stay elsewhere.

Very run down and old. Worth spending a bit more to stay somewhere nicer.

Outdated and expensive

Posted Aug 21, 2017
Pros: Nothing.
Cons: The single bed taken out for more room and just rented as for a couple. Microwave and somewhere to sit would be nice.
Location: Lake Tekapo is a beautiful area with lots of places to visit. Most of this is landscape and you drive around.
The room was small, heating was going on and off so not a constant temperature. The TV was unwatchable with very few channels. This should be a budget room but the price you pay you can get a motel unit for. We have stayed here over the years and found it getting more and more expensive for what it is. We would not stay there again.

tidy and comfortable, good heating

Posted Aug 18, 2017
Pros: location
Cons: upgrade bathrooms
the hotel is a bit older and dated, (based on photos online) so was not expecting to much. Was pleasantly surprised that is was all quite tidy, clean and warm. Great to walk to restaurants.

Close to amenities. Budget accommodation.

Meets minimum requirements. Average standard. Get what you pay for. Does the job. Nothing flash.

I requested a quiet room with a view. Did not get either. The bathroom was uncomfortable and the sink appeared to be unclean.

Good location

It should be motel not hotel. Rooms did not have proper heating and toilets were 1930's.
