Hotel in Puno

Posted Jan 3, 2017
Pros: Clean, comfortable bed.
Cons: Staff friendliness. Decor. Hot water. Breakfast.
Location: It's a 15 min walk from the Centro plaza. Eating/dining/sightseeing/shopping are all located near the Centro plaza.
The hotel accommodated my 5 am arrival but with some grumbling. I know that a 5 am accommodation is appreciated, however, I also know it is the norm for Puno. The hotel is not conventionally located to the city Centre - 15 min incline walk. There is limited hot water. I let the shower run for 10 mins and only had a lukewarm shower. The breakfast is super simple- bread, cheese, coffee. It was the only place that didn't offer a hot breakfast to me. The staff is super unfriendly except when they want to sell an overpriced tour to you. Limited to No English is spoken. Not very accepting of my attempts to communicate in Spanish. I was suppose to have a room with a view- I got a room beside the stairwell. The Manager eyed me suspiciously each day which contributed to an unfriendly atmosphere. I don't know if the area is safe for tourists. I don't how it managed to be a TripAdvisor 2016 winner.

Nice hotel, close to centre of town

Posted May 22, 2016
Staff were awesome. We had arrived in Puno too late to get to our homestay on the Taquile island and had no accomodation for the night. Tried our luck with this hotel where we had booked for the next night and they not only accomodated us, they also charged the same rate for the extra night. They also arranged for a tour the next day (we checked in at 6pm) for the floating islands and the isle of taquile including lunch - with a pickup and drop off at the hotel also included. The hotel is also on the Bolivia Hop included list for pickup / drop off so very convenient and the centre of town was only a 10 minute walk away. Breakfast was nice, included eggs!

Great option in Puno

Posted Sep 15, 2015
Pros: The price and location.
Cons: There was not enough hot water in the mornings.
Location: It is close to the main plaza (about 4 blocks away) but in a quieter residential area that is safer for walking than other parts of Puno.
We had a great stay at this hotel. The breakfast is good and varied and the staff is very friendly and helpful.

Great Service!!! Not fancy but charming.

Posted Sep 10, 2015
Pros: The owner was always on hand to offer any help that was needed.
Cons: Part of the charm was that this was not a fancy modern hotel by western standards, but if that is what you need this may not be the place for you.
Location: It is centrally located and close to a popular square with plenty of restaurants and shopping. Taxis are cheep if you want to visit different areas.
It was charming in its simplicity and service was great. It is not fancy, but is safe, clean and the service is outstanding. It is nothing fancy but the beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean. Yes there were nicks and scrapes on the furniture and walls, with no heat but that didn't seem to be an issue. The owner was always on hand to assist where ever she could and we didn't need anything she couldn't provide. It is a 5 story building with no elevator so you may wan't a lower level if steps are an issue. We wanted a view of the lake and city so we dealt with the steps. I would recommend contacting the owner before your visit to help you with your tours and transportation, she will save you money over the internet tour sites. This is a small city/ big town and is not modern or fancy like many cities you may visit. Though it is a tourist based economy, the big corporations/ big money has not yet corrupted this area, so if you are like me and think this is a good thing I recommend visiting this area and this hotel. Over all experience was more than anticipated.

Manuelita: most accommodating inn keeper EVER!!!

Posted Jun 23, 2015
We arrived by bus from cusco at 5 am with no plans, and sweet Maneulita let us come drop our bags and check in early... She fed us and gave us great tour recommendations. We went for an overnight tour, and when we returned, she welcomed us with hugs and lots of love. What a wonderful lady!!!

Accueillant, mais pas de chauffage.

Posted Jun 30, 2016
Si nous avions eu du chauffage. Le tout aurait Different. Le reste etait bien parfait. Eau chaude. Bon déjeuner (pour le Perou). Proprietaire tres gentille. Nous a permis le "storage" sans frais.

清潔で親切なホテル

Posted Mar 13, 2016

Posted Feb 15, 2016
設備も朝ごはんもちゃんとしてました。 英語もバッチリ。オススメのレストランを教えてもらえてた。 高地のせいか坂道が多少キツイけど街の中心に近い。
