Property is mediocre, it wouldn't have been a terrible stay if not for the cockroaches.

It met our needs.
Although the room decor was outdated it was certainly sufficient. There was only one chair in the room so we bought another one from Walmart. The location is right beside Sizzling Grill and that was perfect. Sizzling Grill has good food and a great happy hour. We were missed for maid service one day but the owner supplied us with towels. It was fine for our needs.

Clean room.
It was a bed for a night. Walls are thin and unfortunately person in room started day about 3am and we could hear him. Most important to us was that it was clean.

It was a perfect location to get to our event at Bok Tower, with the Uber Driver taking and picking up. We were very happy with the property for the age of the place it was kept up very nicely.

Needs updating
I was disappointed in what I got for the amount of money I paid. The owner was nice but the place needs to be updated, and there was a live German cockroach in the bathroom the first morning I woke up. That almost ruined my day. The refrigerator did not work I had to put food in freezer which was barely even cold enough. I spent $221 for two nights and I feel like it really wasn’t worth that at all. Second morning I barely had enough towels. I will not stay here again, like I said the owner was nice but that doesn’t make up for how much I paid for something that was that out of date. It wasn’t even in a resort area so I don’t feel like the price is justified

Great people, good location.
Great staff and good location for just about anything in Lake Wales. The room was as clean as an older room could be cleaned. A couple of roaches were the only spoilers. Florida on a rainy night not much you can do about those.

Nice, clean rooms with enough in-room amenities to make you feel comfortable. Bathrooms may need an update but talk about how water and water pressure - WOW! All staff was friendly especially RAJ, manager. Raj helped us through issues with Expedia when we canceled our last night in more than enough time not to be charged, per their guidelines. Expedia employee "Harry" lied to both Raj and myself about canceling, never sent the modification files to Raj, compelling us both to call Expedia and talk to a supervisor - not once but twice - the first time conveniently being cut off. Would we stay at The Green Gables again? YES! Would we use Expedia in the future? Probably not. Rarely have I had such horrible customer service as this experience with Expedia. But RAJ....YOU ARE THE MAN! Thanks for all your help.

This hotel is old,, and the property is run down. My room smelled like mothballs, and the furniture was a hodgepodge collection that looked like it came from a 1960’s garage sale. Don’t get me started on the bathroom...tile tile was was broken, the ceiling plaster was cracked and dirty, and plain disgusting. How this hotel rates a 3.5 star rating is beyond me. Don’t bring your children to this disaster. I arrived close to midnight and was too tired to search for another option. Highly recommend passing this nasty place by!!!

Thank you for your comment, we get our rooms sprayed once month. When you did tell me about it, i gave you a 10% discount on your room. And pest controll came out the every next day to respray the room.

We only stayed in this Motel for two nights. It was O.K. The room was very old fashioned but clean. I had asked for a quiet room as there is now a restaurant on site. We could hear traffic leaving the restaurant until quite late. To be fair Barbara in the office had not put any guests on either side of us. The big fault in the room are the big wooden beds. I banged my leg on the side every time I climbed out of bed. I do not think we will stay at this Motel again.

We are sorry about the beds , i can be more helpful if i knew what kind of room you stayed in, was it a room with 2 queen beds also all the rooms were renovated 2 years ago , The Restaurant has been here for last 18 years and they close at 9pm every day 7 days a week they are all out by 10pm , Also we don't have any one by the name of Barbara working for us at the front desk . Hope you will re think and come and stay with us , Thank you

Sent guys out on business trip and they liked the hotel. Hotel staff was very accommodating and friendly which was awesome considering they were arriving on 3rd shift. Would definately consider staying here again when in area.

Not a happy Gables
The room was bad. The front door frame was cracked like it had been kicked in. The carpet was dirty. The bathroom exhaust fan was barely in the ceiling and was held in by wedges of toilet paper. The room next to mine had people traffic until early morning.

Never again!
This place was a dump!!! We had the tinyest sliver of a piece of soap. The TV receiver had a thousand different controls on it! The towels were threadbare. The blanket was "icky". I had strict instructions from my husband to not ever stay there again. Breakfast was very minimal - wasn't worth checking it out the second day.

Hi Betty ,We thank you for your comments ,You came to the front desk next morning and told them about the soap we do NOT pack the soap they come pre packed and you were given 4 bars of soap ., We have directv so you should have ask the front desk how to use it , The blankets are new and all the towels are new ,you did not say any thing about other things ONLY ABOUT THE SOAP ,,You were told we only do continental breakfast ,, you stayed 2 days and only complained about the soap . Thank you
