The front desk staff was great. We stayed 7 nights and our room was only cleaned and bed made 4 times. Maids did not speak english. Computer in the lobby works but printer did not. Had to wait for second landing of the elevator. Hallways were not swept, lots of stuff laying around. We expected better from a Wyndam. On the good side it's close to Cracker Barrel and a short drive to the ball park.

Excellent location and value. Located just off exit 33 of Route 4 with easy access to downtown Lakeland, the ballpark, and shopping/ dining options. Easy to overlook the worn hallway carpets when the simple breakfast buffet was good and our king mattress was perfect, not too soft and just firm enough for a good night’s sleep. Our room had lots of counter space by the bathroom sink and plenty of space for luggage atop the large bureau. Unlike many new chain hotels, La Quinta’s efficient HVAC unit was quiet and did not blow hot or cool air directly over the bed. The door to the toilet and tub/shower room faced away from the bedroom so as not to disturb anyone asleep. Friendly staff and good unlimited coffee by the front desk. We loved our 3 night visit to Lakeland and will definitely stay at this La Quinta again.

Needs help.
The hotel needs some updating. The room was fairly clean. My main problem was the next morning: Breakfast is posted as 6:30-9:30. At 6:20 there was no one at the front desk and the breakfast room was dark. At 6:40, out of the elevator comes the woman that is supposed to have breakfast ready at 6:30; she opened the room, looked at us and said nothing was set up. Where I have an issue is the attitude - as though being ready on time is an absurd expectation.

Our Room was very clean, the hallway carpet needed to be vacuumed and cleaned. The property is very dated. Looks like they may be getting ready for an exterior facelift as they have a lift in the lot and some material. Staff was super nice except for 1 clerk, who was working the front desk when we checked out, didn’t smile and was very short. We did have a issue with the smell of POT coming into our room and down the hallway on Friday night. I reported it Friday night and the clerk tried to locate the source, I complained the next morning (Saturday) and he was concerned. On Sunday when we checked out the lady didn’t really care. She said that it was legal in Florida. I did have to sign that Smoking and Vaping was not allowed, and even paid a hundred dollar deposit. ( i’m waiting for my refund) It may be legal in Florida to smoke it, but I shouldn’t have my rights violated to have to smell it… I most likely won’t be staying at this property anymore. Also woke up Friday and Saturday night to a large dog barking across the hall.

Second time staying. First was great had no issues this time around different. This room was a little run down. Cleaning lady who provided towels didn’t know English when I ask for wash rags so I had to physically show her what I needed but this was not the main reason for the low score. Sunday our last day we went to breakfast my youngest didn’t feel good so she stayed in the room. I didn’t know we couldn’t take the food to our room and made her a plate, the breakfast lady came off the elevator loud as heck we can’t take anything out to our room we need to ask front desk first. First I saw no sign of this second it was embarrassing how loud she was third no one was at the desk and when the front desk lady came back she was totally ok with it and look at us like why we ask beside the one dollar tip in the jar I put a decent tip and if I had to deal with the breakfast lady before hand I would have kept my money, I didn’t match her attitude because there was small kids in the lobby but best believe I was pissed
