“The room was all old fixtures showing lots of wear and tear and the carpet was very stained, but it was clean and everything worked. The mattress was relatively new and we slept ok on it. No evidence of bed bugs. The room we were in had a slight lake water/wet dog smell, but if you kept the AC running and left the exhaust fan running it was much better. “No elevator, which wasn’t a problem until I carried everything upstairs and the room key didn’t work the first night. The mayflies were incredibly bad and there was zero mitigation in place. No UV bug zappers, bright white lights that attract them instead of yellow or amber that would still provide plenty of light and draw far fewer bugs - literally had to shake off when going inside.
