A marvelous accommodation in a stunning location!
The property is located in the heart of the mountain, in a wonderful location. It is well kept, very clean, with a classy atmosphere. The staff are very polite and helpful. Catering to all our needs and providing information about the place and surrounding area activities. Although we visited during second vave of COVID-19 pandemic, the stay was memorable...

Simply Perfect!
Wonderfully tranquil location with spectacular mountain views of Mount Taygetus & the vicinity. Fabulous accommodation with a romantic feel & a super breakfast choice. Excellent facilities with a first class poolside area. Lovely dining options for an evening meal. Fabulous hosts who made Karen & I feel so very welcome. Will definitely return! 1st Class!

Absolutely amazing getaway. Total serenity in the mountains with the absolute best service. We can’t stop talking about how lucky we are to experience this. The breakfast was phenomenal, the pool is to die for and Olga and the team are simply the best. Can’t wait to come back

Its in a beautiful area overlooking whole valley including sparta. Restraunt was good, staff very friendly. Wifi was good for most of the trip, but did its moments where given numbet of ppl it would drop. Very quite at night, good trails for hiking too.

Superb place-worth visiting & strongly recommended
The resort is a real diamond of the Greek Tourism Industry! Located in the forest of Taygetos, offers great view to the Lakonian Lowlands & a great sense of tranquility. So much different from what we have mostly seen so far. The natural shadow from clusters of coniferous trees & firs, makes the sun friendly. The mountain breeze allows for lovely sleeping, “air-condition free”. Wood, stone & green woods, form the trademark of the resort, all very well-combined in its architecture. The swimming pool under the trees, makes swimming & sunbathing a ritual. All buildings’ style, fully harmonized with the scenery, emphasizes the beauty of the surroundings. The rooms are spacious, minimally decorated & still very chic. Every detail in the room – even the cupboards’ knobs – is tastefully selected, fitting perfectly with the landscape. All indoor & outdoor areas are clean & tidy. The food is excellent, cooked with taste. But the greatest asset of this resort is the people working there. All the personnel vitalizes the magnificence of the place, making it so different & cozy. Without exception, everybody was particularly polite & professional, dedicated to make every guest feel comfortable & relaxed. Always smiling, even after long working hours, demonstrating that they love to offer rather than being obliged to do so- a rare merit elsewhere-. Ilaeira’s people make the place different &mythical. After all, it might be the place that Castor brought Ilaeira, so that she would never leave

If you are looking for a mountain resort to hike, enjoy nature, or just relax around the pool you would be hard pressed to find a better place with nicer staff. This hotel has set the bar high when it comes to cleanliness and the welcoming and friendly nature of the staff. This is a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city

Heavenly perch
The hotel is perched high on a mountain. It takes 15 minutes of very slow driving from the village st the bottom up the narrow winding roads with many hairpin turns. However the view from the balcony makes you want to stay on and on. Stephanie and Maria were very kind and hospitable. Breakfast was sumptuous even though it is the low season. They make us feel special. It is a perfect place to stay when planning a visit to Mystras, Monemvassia, and the lovely little towns in Mani.

Wonderful stay at the Ilaeira Mountain Resort!
We loved our 3 night stay at the Ilaeira Mountain Resort. The staff is very welcoming. The rooms are very comfortable, breakfast was excellent, the pool, bar and restaurant were also excellent. Prepare for a windy trip up the mountain, smaller cars will do best on the switchback roads. The location is not far off of the road from Gytheio to Sparta. We will definitely return.

Incredible resort at the top of the mountain
We stayed at the resort only one night over the Summer and wish we had stayed longer. Just make sure you have a good map or a working GPS, this place is a hidden gem, at the top of the mountain with breathtaking views over Sparta and the entire valley. Warm welcome from the very friendly staff, everyone was charming and made sure we were comfortable. The kids loved the pool and we enjoyed our private villa, it has all you need. There is even a restaurant that serves delicious local food. Breakfast is a feast. Would highly recommend this place to anyone. Also, we had forgotten our iphone plug in the room and the staff very kindly expedited its shipping to our next location in Greece, we are very grateful.

Location is breathtaking. Staff were very friendly. Breakfast great choice and tasty. Pool was too crowded on Sunday I think a lot of non guests were using the facility but next day was very quiet. Bed was not the most comfortable.

Mountain retreat
This place is amazing. So glad we decided to head up into the mountains outside of Sparta. The resort was lovely. Our bungalow was beautiful and spacious for our family of four. The kids loved the pool and the restaurant was great. Service was top notch. We went for a small hike on the nearby trail and was rewarded with incredible views. Wish we had a second night to stay.

Luxury accommodation; challenging drive!
Uphill drive for miles: if I'd known it was going to be that vertical, that bendy, that stony, I probably wouldn't have booked. But I'm glad I didn't know, because the accommodation, facilities, views, welcome at the end of it were worth it! For the "junior suite" we paid less than we'd paid for our nice hotel in Athens.

Amazing and Beautiful
Amazing and beautiful place. Unbelievable view of the mountains and valley, complete with morning sounds of sheep. A short drive to town, so if you want to be in the center of things, walk to restaurants, not for you. If you want peace and beauty, this is it.

A true gem in the roots of mountain Taygetos
Ilaeira is a true gem boutique mountain resort. Pleasant people, wonderful location (be prepared for some mountain road driving for a few kilometers), excellent food and service. The rooms are exceptionally good maintained and spacious.

We only had time to stay one night but thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We stayed there on our way back from SE Greece before visiting Mystras the following day. The hotel room was really nice, with a small kitchenette included. We were able to sit out on our balcony overlooking the valley to the east. Even the drive was not too bad; it helped that we got directions from the staff before driving there.

Oasis after a hot day touring Mystra
We chose this hotel to relax after an intense day touring Mystra. We were an extended family party of eight. Plusses are getting there, going up the Taygetos mountain road, and then taking the mountain road the other way in direction of Kalamata. About the hotel... the rooms. This hotel is lovely-- for honeymooners. We had dinner at the hotel -- comfort food. Big servings of goat, and excellent moussaka. House red wine was lacking, we could have ordered from the carte. The staff at the hotel is very caring and helpful, they run an outstanding operation. It is a privilege. Each room is totally different. Unfortunately we only stayed there one night. Would recommend to stay at least two nights. Next day in Sparta we toured the Olive Museum. Highly recommended.

Excellent Stay!
I loved everything about this hotel, it was on top of a beautiful mountain so there was 24/7 beautiful sights. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and always willing to help us with transportation or any other questions that we had. The rooms were incredible, very comfortable and beautiful. The only problem we had was how far away the hotel was from everything, once again its on top of a mountain but the staff was so quick to help us friend affordable personal transportation. I would highly recommend staying at this mountain resort, its a beautiful place.

Lovely location
This is a brilliant hotel for a quiet mountain holiday. The cottages are very well equipped and comfortable, the views fantastic. The only gripe we had was that there was a party going on with very loud music until the early hours. We dined at the restaurant and most dishes were not available as the staff were serving the party guests.
