Fine - in its own fusty way

Posted Nov 5, 2016
Pros: Some hotels seem to exist beyond time. It doesn't what happens in the way of fashion or building regulations this hotel will keep ploughing its own individual furrow. But in its own fusty sort of a way... it's fine. The room is spacious if really basic. The bath is deep. The location is quiet. So quiet that I literally didn't even see another soul my whole time there! Fans of The Shining check it out! Fine.
Cons: Very basic. TV didn't work properly (scrambled digital picture).
Location: What else does one do with an afternoon to kill in Blackburn? Visit Manchester.

Friendly hotel, convenient for countryside

Posted Nov 2, 2016 on Hotels
Lovely hotel, handy for the Forest of Bowland/ countryside and the staff are very friendly. I stayed here so I could go cycling, so very handy for Nick of Pendle, Forest of Bowland and generally some beautiful countryside

Nice surroundings but no sleep

Posted Oct 26, 2016
Pros: It is set in beautiful countryside and from the outside looks very nice
Cons: Very tired room with stained carpets and a broken shower, extremely noisy floorboards and staircase leading to room and constant banging of doors. Bed old and uncomfortable. For the£100 price without breakfast i would have expected a much nicer room.
Location: Nice meal at the Aspinal Arms short drive away
