Pretty cottage great for walking hols!Posted Oct 3, 2015
I stayed in this pretty cottage next to a stream whilst on an 'adventure' trip to the Yorkshire dales. It is just the best location, a short stroll to the village cafe & pub....With all the trails, walks and cycleways starting nearby. The owner was so helpful and a good cook too!

Lovely room and delicious foodPosted Sep 7, 2015
Pros: The food, the king size bedroom
Location: The town is just over a mile from the train station (beware if you don't have a car). There is a lovely walk nearby to the caves past a waterfall
We had a lovely stay for 2 nights. We eat at the restaurant one evening and the food was fantastic - good size portions of really tasty food. The bedroom was well presented with an amazingly comfortable bed. The owner was really friendly. Recommended!

Lovely stay at this quiet B&B. Warm welcome and what my wife described as one of the best breakfasts she had every had.

Claphams lille perlePosted Apr 7, 2015 on Hotels

Very comfy beds and lovely views.Posted Oct 11, 2014 on Hotels
Our room was so silent we believed we were alone in the house! The area is picturesque and charming. Our sleep was very peaceful and we gladly recommend this homely hotel to friends.

Great stop that made us want to stay longerPosted Sep 23, 2014 on Hotels
This was a small village overnight stay but we had time enough to go up through the forest walk, past the lake, and up to the cave entrance. This was closed for the evening but the walk was delightful and not too strenuous for 40 minutes each way. My wife and I found an odd tree with coins embedded - I was attracted to it as it looked just perfect for a small boy to climb, I.e. Me! For a small place, there was a nice waterfall and we enjoyed good beer at the inn nearby but at the Brookhouse we had an excellent meal. Very good food, well presented and a good stock of wines too. We left in the morning determined to come back.
