Convenient location

Location: Location - right on the Ringway. Restaurants along Fishergate - or try the Grey Friar (Wetherspoons) nearby.
Slightly unusual - reception on the First Floor, no lift access from ground level after 10pm. But the rooms are clean and not cramped; breakfast is good value.

Decent modern city centre hotel

Pros: Comfortable room.
Cons: The air-conditioning did not seem to be working very effectively. Important since the outside window could not be opened.
Location: Close to Preston town centre with its shops, pubs and restaurants.
It is a Holiday Inn, so not exactly full of individual character but no-one would expect that in such a chain. It provides reliably clean and comfortable rooms, is quiet enough and the morning call came through ,cheerfully, at the expected time. The shower did not take too much working out. I did not have a breakfast this time but on my last visit it was a decent buffet. The position is next door to Preston's famed brutalist bus station if you are interested in either architecture or buses.

We booked this hotel as it was the only place that had the dates we needed and the availability. I can honestly say it was clean tidy..I have an OCD of cleaning and there was one hair I found that was all.. it's exactly how you would want it to be. I can not say a bad word about this hotel it was spot on for us. One member of staff who checked us in was absolutely lovely... they should proberly mention that if your paying with cash you have to give them a £50 deposit which you get back when you leave. They should really let you know that before staying. Other than that. Spot on :)

Awful stay!

I ended up in a room with two single beds that was extremely dated. I tried ordering room service - they were happy to bring me food but not a beer! Then to top it all off the hotel had no water in the morning so I couldn't even have a shower! Poor stay. Won't be going back.

Not what you would expect from the Holiday Inn!!

I booked this hotel for 3 visitors from China. They arrived at the hotel at approx. 11am but were unable to get into their rooms until after 2pm (even though I had previously called to check this and was told they should be able to get in for midday. This obviously was not ideal as they had been travelling for over 12 hours. When they did manage to get in to their rooms there was no hot water in the hotel so they could not shower before going out for dinner with the Director from the university. The following day it got even worse as they had no water at all!! Also, one of the visitors toilet was disgustingly dirty. Basically, I will never book any of our visitors into this hotel again.

Convenient but not luxury

Stayed here for daughters graduation and it was convenient for the Guild Hall. Managed to get a space on the car park although it's quite small and then walk to the Hall without having to tackle one way system. Room was one of the smallest Holiday Inn rooms I've encountered but was functional. Breakfast was good and late checkout offered for free with ICH card was great benefit. Hotel room suffered from road noise as busy road runs at the back of the hotel. Needs a bit of TLC and updating
