Welcoming Guest House in a Quieter Part of Town

Posted May 7, 2017
Pros: The cleanliness of the rooms; the quality of the breakfasts; how close it was to Pleasant Street tram stop; the quiet atmosphere.
Cons: Put some soap in the rooms; have a menu at breakfast so people know what is available them; put together a little information folder in each room
Location: This isn't the nicest part of town but it's not far to Blackpool Tower, Pleasure Beach, Freeport Shopping Complex. Trams run from about 100 yards away
I booked this guest house to spend a few days catching up with my Dad. Even before we arrived they had gone out of their way to be helpful - I had recently sustained an injury and couldn't have coped with climbing many flights of stairs, so they made sure we had a room on one of the lower floors. The hotel was very quiet and yet there was no shortage of guests. Our room was small but well appointed; the beds were made up, the linen was clean, towels were provided (although no soap, curiously) etc. and I am sure I would have slept well had I not fallen off a horse the previous week! Breakfast, served at 8.30am, consisted of cereals, tea, coffee and toast followed by a Full English, which was excellent. The owner doesn't have much to say to his guests, but this is made up for by Dora-Lee, who waits at tables and services your room with an infectious enthusiasm (except on Thursdays) before riding off on her pushbike into the sunset until the following day.

Unfortunately when we stayed there was work being undertaken next door, the room we was given was right next door to the work being done so after our first night we asked for a move which we was given virtually right away the room was a lot better & quieter overall the hotel was great clean & staff friendly

Everything we needed

Posted Dec 11, 2015
My friend and i stayed 1 night , we were in Blackpool to do a bit of shopping and hit the town at night. We arrived in the middle of torrential rain and a howling gale. The owners could not have been more friendly and the warm room with tea and coffee so welcoming. Alrhough the owner was clearly having problems with leaks due to the awful weather he was chatty, welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was basic Blackpool guest house, which was more than adequate. Cannot really fault the place, and for what we paid did us brilliantly.
