Firstly, this is a beautiful old hotel, and you expect a few things to not look their best, but it clearly shows no money has been spent on this hotel in a very long time.
Arrived at hotel to one receptionist, nine people queuing to get room keys, no one else about to assist.
Arrived at room, floor looked like it had not been vacuumed in a week, previous occupant must have had a shopping spree as little plastic end tags all over the floor. Never got cleaned up until Friday afternoon.
The previous occupant definitely had black or dark brown hair as lots of it left around the bath for three days, having even addressed this issue with reception.
THE HOTEL HAS JUST CHANGED OWNERS SO HOPEFULLY THEY WILL SPEND SOME MONEY AND REFURBISH BEDROOMS, INCLUDING REWIRING.
Friday I left the hotel and returned late afternoon, to find my room key didn’t work, went to reception, who reactivated it, returned to room to find other occupants in my room and that my bags etc had been moved to a different room.
You would have though by now with today’s modern computer systems, even if there are guest staying in the hotel with the same surname the receptionist or computer system would know the difference between a guest who had stayed all week and a new guest arriving not to put the new guest in a room that is already occupied.
Young pregnant receptionist very helpful and very apologetic.
Overall facilities, room, and public areas, clearly need refurbishing
Room Electrics, clearly in need
