Old hotel but not in a good wayPosted Sep 19, 2015
Pros: Not much
Cons: Most everything.
Location: Its not really close to the centre of blackpool
Needs a renovation. The wifi kicks you off every five minutes. There is no turn down service. Hotel could be lovely but its run down.

Stayed here with partner. Quiet and comfortable with a view right out to the sea, in a nice location as well ^^ Only downside was missing equipment in the room

Grand hotel from outside....different story insidePosted Aug 29, 2015
Lovely front desk staff and fast check in. We were allocated a room on 1st floor which was very tired and desperately in need of refurbishment. TV remote didn't work and neither did one of the bedside lights. The room overlooked a roof full of scaffolding and the windows didn't open at all,not pleasant in the middle of August. We changed our room for the following 2 nights as the guests upstairs were so noisy added to the fact that the floor boards were very noisy and you could hear them creaking constantly throughout the hotel. The hotel bar had inadequate seating and the menu and standard of food was poor for a 4 star hotel. I am from the north of England but I do not appreciate being called 'love' by bar staff! Maybe a little bit if customer service training wouldn't go a miss. The imperial has the potential to be as grand as it once was but is in need of major refurbishment throughout. A pleasant stay but we won't be rushing back, better hotels in the area.

Everything was great except we found a huge spider in our bathroom haha. Other than that it was very nice.

Could be a very nice hotel. Let down by attentionPosted Aug 7, 2015
Pros: A stunning hotel - from outside
Cons: Checking in procedure needs to be better
Location: Within walking distance of North Pier & Tower
Upon arrival we had to wait approx 20 minutes in a long queue to check in. When checking in I asked whether they had added an additional bed as per my booking request, the receptionist confirmed this. Once at the room, the card door key did not work - another trip to reception, along with another long wait. Upon entry - No additional bed - another trip to reception. The reception appeared to be full of disgruntled guests, many card keys did not work the guest in front of me had paid extra for a sea view and not been given one. The room was adequate although mould around the bath tub was not expected from a 4 star hotel. The staff were polite despite the volume of complaints. I have stayed at the Imperial many times, the first time approx 20 years ago. I do not think the hotel has been decorated since my first visit. Could be a very nice hotel. Let down by attention to detail. Massive queues at checking in times are simply not acceptable.
