"Lovely hotel overlooking the beach."
Overall the hotel is lovely. The staff were exceptional in their attention and friendliness. The public rooms were great - dining room and conservatory looking out onto the sea and a very comfortable and welcoming lounge. The only disappointment for us was our room (number 302). When we booked it was the last one with a sea view so we chose it over a more expensive one. It was the smallest hotel room we have ever stayed in! Beautifully decorated but tiny! The wardrobe door couldn't be opened fully and if one of us was walking about the other had to sit on the bed as we couldn't pass each other. Even the mirror was propped up on a table at thigh height so to dry my hair I had to prop it on the arms of the chair and sit on the bed. The bathroom was also very small with the shelf under the towel rail and over the toilet which meant it was difficult not to constantly knock things off it! We ended up leaving wet coats in the car as there was nowhere to hang them in the room or bathroom. The bed mattress was extremely firm with very little give which neither of us found comfortable. The view however was wonderful. We would both go back to this hotel but next time would book early enough to secure a larger room.

Pocket Guide: Lands End, United Kingdom Spa Hotels

The most westerly tip of the country is also the wildest part of Cornwall, known for its prehistoric sites, cliff scenery (particularly at Land’s End), raging surf, and tin mining relics. Its most popular settlement is St Ives, a beautiful fishing village and arts centre with its very own Tate gallery and superb beaches. Penzance is a characterful Georgian town, while the nearby soaring island abbey of St Michael’s Mount is a regional icon.
