This is a 2 start Motel at best. Motel style rooms, extremely uncomfortable bedding and pillows, very dated and primitive. Avoid !

Dear Val,I feel that you have made a mistake in reviewing hotels.Our mattresses are a year old and we have chosen excellent quality. Same with the pillows. We provide two pillows of different weights for each guest. As for the rooms, just check the pictures on the website or on Expedia.com to realise their charm. If you find such a motel, please tell me so I can try it too. Anyway, My apologies if your stay with us did not meet your expectations. We always encourage our guests to inform the Front Office team as soon as they have some issues in order to find an immediate solution.You can catch more flies with honey than you can with vinegar.Best Regards,Hotel Manager

For such a beautiful looking hotel on the outside, and what we thought was a luxury hotel. it was very disappointing. No bell service, breakfast was par at best and there was one coffee pot for everyone to share. The bed was horribly uncomfortable. We couldn't find the gym, the front desk clerk did as little as possible.

There was no services at all.. No kettle in the room and no complementary water provided. We had no choice but bought water from mini bar and it was expensive. There is minimal facility for hotel guest It was like a substandard B&B in a castle at a 4-star hotel price.

This was our second time at Villa Pomela, and we returned for its proximity to the Serravalle outlet (not even 5 min away), the excellent restaurant (we arrived in truffle season - yummy!) and it’s great service and wines (we enjoyed the delicious Gavi house wine, aptly named D’amore...), and the very good service at the hotel (smiles and welcoming at all times). The rooms are a bit hit and miss; last time we had a huge nice room, but this time it was smaller. A bit tired bathroom, but clean. One of our friends got a really small room for the same price we paid which we found strange. The Beds are typical for Italy, a bit on the hard side and no duvet but rather a blanket. But we slept well. I would say the rooms could benefit from some renovation, but the character should be kept. We will come back!

Beautiful hotel and grounds...It's like staying in a mansion. Relais Villa Pomela is one of the most upscale hotels in the surrounding area, yet very reasonably priced. The hotel staff is gracious and accommodating. The hotel restaurant is a bit pricey for dinner, but a nice breakfast is included at no charge.

Classically styled getaway
Very nice hotel with very classical deco. The staff were all fantastic and the restaurant very good! We only had the ability to stay one night but the grounds and area were all very nice and could have stayed there a number of days.

Slightly tired grand hotel
The grounds of the hotel are stunning. Main floor ceilings about 40 feet tall with polished marble floors...rooms are clean but old. Furnishings pretty stuffy. We did not get the rooms with the balcony, rather we faced the parking lot. This was possibly due to booking fairly inexpensively online. Breakfast was terrific. We chose to eat dinner at the hotel based on online reviews. This turned out to be a mistake. Food was ok, kind of homecooked ok, but overpriced. We had the 35 euro menu which consisted of 2 courses- I had duck salad ( mesclun with chopped duck and a sprinkling of balsamic) and braised beef (2 small slices of tasty braised beef with some potato and veg). It came with water and a glass of wine. There were only 3 tables of guests, despite the hotel being well-attended. That should have been a clue. I would stay again if the price was right, but would find someplace else to eat.

We stayed in junior suite. In my opinion it's better than suite, because it has nice terrace overlooking the park and the fountain. If you came for shopping the location is great. Only couple of km from the outlet, but at te same time in quite rural area. Hotel has great restaurant, service a bit slow though, so you need to be prepared to spend some time there. In overall, the best option to stay in the area.

Classy hotel on a convienient spot
Fantastic monumentary hotel in an excellent state with surprisingly comfortable rooms. The restaurant is of a very acceptable level with a friendly staff with a good knowledge of what they are offering. The hotel is very close to the highway on the route between Milan and Genua. It is a convenient spot for travellers who need to be in the Eastern part of Genua.
