At the end of the road you will find a driveway up to a private area to spend time around a stone fire pit (firewood provided) roasting hot dogs and marshmallows, swing on the porch swing, rock in the rocking chairs, or take a nap in the hammock. Spend a day at the river using the inner tubes and kayaks provided, then enjoy taking a hot outdoor shower. Public river access is located at the bridge area. The house is accommodated with everything needed to make you comfortable during your stay, including a gas fireplace! Visible outdoor security cameras only.

Getaway Spot

Made for a great getaway from the city. Very clean, easy to access and find. Deer in the backyard while you hang out at the fire pit. Owner is communicative but not overbearing. Welcome email provides a lot of really good info of the area. One of the better properties we have stayed at in NC.

Mountain cabin

Beautiful property and house. My family and I had a wonderful time, my son loved the fire pit and seeing the deer in the evening. Perfect vacation property!

Beautiful cabin in Lansing

Beautiful cabin, perfect size for our family of four. Very comfortable with lots of extra touches that made it a great place to stay. Great location to go exploring West Jefferson for shopping and restaurants and Grayson Highlands for awesome scenic hiking. Excellent hosts who go out of their way to make sure the visit is the best it can be. We would definitely recommend staying here!

Loved this property

We had an absolute blast at this property. Don’t let the spiral stair deter you, they are extremely sturdy! Driveway is pretty steep/pain to navigate but after the 1st time up/down it’s not so bad. The fire pit was the highlight of our stay. Enjoying the crisp air around a fire is hard to beat. Would definitely come back.

Cute mountain getaway

Our family enjoyed a mountain stay in this adorable cabin along the river. It was very well maintained and stocked and obviously loved with TLC. We really enjoyed the fire pit and the kids loved the downstairs and spiral staircase. Wished it was warmer weather so we could have enjoyed the river and kayaks! Lovely to hear the river from the porch. Would definitely love to visit again!

Christmas Tree cutting trip

The cabin was perfect for the 6 of us. We had a 3 day trip to cut our Christmas tress and just relax together as a family. The cabin was completely furnished and just perfect. While it was a cold weekend, I did get to walk the road up the hill and nap in the hammock. We enjoyed seeing the deer too. Hope to get back to fish and kayak in the spring!

Very clean & comfortable !

The gas fireplace was very nice after trout fishing that chilly morning. Julius checked in on us to make sure everything was good. His directions to the trout stream were spot on. We would highly recommend his cabin to anyone ! Awesome place ! Bring some corn to feed the deer. They were awesome to watch !

Good House & Location

Nice wood house. Beautiful wood interior. Comfortable and well-equipped with all you need. Nice yard with trees and hammock. Location is close enough to West Jefferson to go in for dinner after hiking or canoeing. Owner communicates and is easy to work with. Very sharp left-hand turn to go up the driveway.

Amazing Cabin and location

Julius was an amazing host from the moment we booked his glorious mountain home . The pictures on line do not do it justice ….. gorgeous home and could not be cleanser . The home location was an easy trip to West Jefferson for fun festivities . I especially loved sitting on the front porch …. Listening to the New River . The fire pit was also a favorite spot for our group . I highly recommend this home if you are looking for a beautiful peaceful, relaxing home nestled in a great neighborhood .

Wonderful

We had a great time. The owners were so kind and checked in on us often to see if we needed anything. The home was very nice and clean and was exactly what we needed for a long weekend. The cabin is stocked with everything you need. I would recommend this home to anyone. My husband and I were traveling with our son and his family. The 2 grandkids had a blast. We saw deer and turkey on the property which was exciting to them. We hope we will be able to stay again sometime.

Hospitality at its best

This little cabin packed a punch of warmth and hospitality. It fit our family beautifully and the host, Julius, was one of the most considerate and hospitable hosts I’ve ever interacted with. The view paired with the sound of the River below us was a delight. The outdoor fire pit was immaculate. They really seemed to think of everything and were sincerely glad to share their home with us! What an uncommon and pleasant experience. Not only will we stay here again, but we will tell everyone visiting the area to do the same!

Amazing Cabin and Host

We had a wonderful stay in the Tingen Cabin! It was exactly as is described in the listing. So many amenities and incredibly clean. The beds were very comfortable. The property is beautiful. We enjoyed the hammock, outdoor shower and fire pit, as well as tubing and kayaking on the river. The porch was so peaceful and we enjoyed seeing so many birds as we relaxed or ate meals outside. Julius was an incredible host! He stayed in contact with us and his information was extremely helpful as we were new to the area. Julius and Julie have really taken the time to make this cabin a special home away from home!

Cabin was great! Enjoyed our family visits to celebrate my birthday. We visited some family in Mouth of Wilson, VA…about a 30 min drive Floated the New River!Hiked at Grayson Highlands!

Great weekend

This cabin was fantastic. This was my first experience booking a vrbo and I was very impressed. The cabin had everything we could need. My friends and I usually do mountain races and camp normally but with the recent weather and rain this was so much better. I think from now on we will be using the cabins. The owners of this cabin are very nice and helpful letting us know all about the area and what we can do. Perfect place for fishing, or floating down the river. It was only about 40 minutes from Grayson Highlands state park which is gorgeous. This is also a great place to stay if you just want to relax.
