Fantastic / Superb!
It’s a great ambiance for us who’s looking for a peace and quiet place to stay .Staffs accommodates us with happy welcoming ,service is excellent and also the food itself buffet both breakfast and supper is superb, we can’t ask for more as we receive the best of everything . We surely come back and back again no doubt .

Nice views but uncomfortable beds.
Second time staying in Block A but didn't get the same apartment. Unfortunately, the beds were rock hard and we didn't sleep well. Breakfast is adequate but not worth getting up for. Don't think I'll be staying again.

Awful hotel in a fantastic location
It's true that you get what you pay for..lesson learned.. Rock hard mattress with plastic mattress protector. Lumpy smelly pillows.. Large hole in bedroom ceiling..very tired looking apartment.. Sofa was filthy.. Tiles missing in bathroom.. Sun terrace and view lovely

Owner of property should try a visit!!!!
Sorry to say this place is very, very sad. We don't like writing a poor review, but it is necessary. Seems like a package tour place mainly for German people. They deserve better. Feel sorry for the staff trying their best. Sorry too for holiday makers on a package tour. We only booked for 2 nights. No idea where the picture advertising it was taken, we could not find it. Whole place needs a complete overhaul. We were very lucky our apartment inside had been renovated which was great but still pretty basic. Around the apartments needs serious money spending, no planting Most of the staff where great and helpful. Very basic place.Area at one time had been great. Local beach is wonderful. Breakfast we only ate there once in our 2 days we paid for. Probably the cheapest quality we have ever experienced. Owners of this property need to spend some time, money and TLC. It could be great!

Great views and spacious accommodation.
Our apartment had an absolutely huge and quite private terrace. So big, you could have a party on it! We had a 2nd floor apartment with views of the beach and could enjoy the sunrise in the morning, if you're up that early! Lovely quiet area. Bus stop practically outside our block.

Our family trip
We stayed in the costa Mar for a week the apartment was ground floor as requested by Us as we have a small children in our family, the apartment was lovely and spacious, clean and close to the reception and pools. My 4 children really enjoyed there stay the only drawbacks for us was the wifi, it was shocking the TV didn't have any English channels on it only news, but had lots of German channels so our kids were watching Disney in either Spanish or German when we were in the apartment also the kids pool was quite smal. And the lisa entertainment wasn't great, the location however is perfect, it's a lovely hotel and we would go back there

The hotel is next to the beach and the rooms are nice. If you can ask for blocks A or B, they are closest to the beach and have a nice view. The only thing is that the rooms don't have ACs. We've been there in October so it was fine but in summer I can imagine it can get quite hot. The food is good, we had half board. There is also a supermarket and several souvenir shops nearby, which is quite handy. The pool is small but very cold.

We stayed for 2 weeks in early July. Everything was pretty good. Our main problem was that the hotel bar only seemed to be open on about 3 of the evenings. This was during the Euro 2016 football championships so it meant having to leave the hotel to see most of the games. The pool bar was open until about 6 or so each day but the main bar (which had a sign saying it was open from 8 - 11) was always closed when I looked. There are bars nearby so not a huge problem. Only other thing is that it's about a 25 - 30 minute walk to the main resort area. Taxis are cheap but if you want to be in the heart of it, somewhere a little closer to the old town would probably be more suitable.

Hotel clean, easy to find, close to airport. all staff friendly and approachable. Food basic but good, always something to please most people including children, good variety over the week. Price of drinks reasonable. Shame you have to lay your own table! Room was clean, but basic. Ideal for a Base but not sure you could really cook much with the equipment included. Could do with a revamp but for the cost really pleased. Main problem is unheated pools meant we couldn't use them which is normally a key part of our holiday but proximity to beautiful beaches made up for this. Overall for price happy, but feel it could have been so much better with just a few tweaks which explains why it is only 3star.

Perfect (but a little isolated)
Lovely pool, great breakfast, clean and tidy and they couldn't have done more for us. The room we were allocated was just lovely. The hotel is a LITTLE far away from the main parts of Puerto del Carmen, but right on the (massive) beach, so if all you want is to relax and don;t mind a 3-5 euro cab ride to main restaurants etc, then this is your place :-)

Cheap break away
The hotel was what we expected as we hadn't paid much for it. Overall room was clean and very spacious and the beds were comfortable enough to sleep. Staff were helpful with getting taxis etc. The location is close to the beach and is either or 20 minute walk or a short taxi ride away form the main restaurants/shops in PDC. If you want a cheap getaway, I would recommend Costa Mar.

Good accommodation
Stayed for two weeks with family in August. Lovely staff who can't do enough for you. Good sized apartment with large balcony and pool view. Regularly cleaned. Good location but a did need taxi/bus into PDC as we had young children. Needs more entertainment for children as not much happening in the evenings. Overall a good place to stay.

The swimming pool was out of order for the two weeks we were their I complained to the director of the hotel mr Fernando and he has given me 4 free nights with my family and half board they were very sympathetic over the problem and had to re pipe the pool due toa massive water leak the hotel was great

quite basic realy,staff supposed to clean daily but didnt come near us for 4 days,apartment quite large but basic .not many utensils .no brush etc.quite expensive for what u get. staff a bit sullen.apart from reception staff.who were friendly.didnt try the food.couldnt cook as not enough equipment,tv only had 2 english channels situation between two parts of the resort.short walk one way ,long the other.pool water very cold. plenty of sunbeds.and brollys. wouldnt go there again for the price better value around

We have been staying at Costmar for a number of years. Large spacious apartments are basic but clean. Excellent location, directly across road from beach, lots of great eating places around and within walking distance to busy town centre.

Good hotel for the price
The aparthotel was clean and nicely furnished. The apartment was spacious generally although the second bedroom was small. We were quite near the beach but there were rooms that were behind the pool and reception and all were across the promenade and main road. We were on the ground floor but it would be awkward if you had small children and were on other floors as there are no lifts and the site is quite spreadout. We found the location excellent, not too crowded but easy to walk to restaurants and bars in either direction. Overall very good for what we paid.

we had a self catering - aparthotel-one bed flat. the accomodation was spacious with a large balcony;; it was cleaned daily. Overall it was good value for money; the only downside was the poorly kitted out kitchenette. In spite of the s/c arrangement, we had buffet breakfast at the hotel.

The hotel was advertised as being situated on beach, it was not on the beach. The room we stayed in was quite away from the beach!!! The rooms I would say should be rated as 2* not 3* the pluses side was we did get a sea view room but we had to climb quite a lot of steps each day to get to our room ( no lifts)

We thought that the hotel staff were very accomadating, Friendly and very Helpful. If a problem accured they attended to it out straight away,when asking for directions they never hesitated to help out. The appartments were clean and comfortable. We would not hesitate to recommened this establishment to anyone and everyone.

I stayed in this hotel recently with my 3 year old daughter. Room size was good but very unsafe we where on the 4th floor and still was very easy too gain entry in the bedroom window we felt very unsafe. The balcony was never cleaned and standard of cleaning in the room was very poor. The stair way was very slippery and there was no lifts.The staff are really nice and helpful pitty about the condition of the hotel. There was no A/C also.

Basic beach resort hotel. Rooms could use a little sprucing up. Inexpensive, but was not in the hotel most of the time. Only gets a 3 on the cleanlieness due to the fridge, that had a bit of an off smell, and some of the tile grout needs a bit of a scrub. Otherwise the simple rooms were fine. Breakfast had coldcuts, as well as breads and cereals available. Nothing fancy. Nice wide beaches across the street, though there are more scenic beaches elsewhere. There are some shops and restaurants next to the hotel, but need to go just a bit more south in Puerto Del Carmen for more selection. a SPAR supermarket with a good selection of groceries is next to the hotel. Best for budget minded travellers; Non-demanding families / College students.

The aparthotel is close to a grocery a couple of restaurants amd gift shops, but if use it only to sleep as we did and spend most of your days outdoors the hotel is good it's cheaper than most around Has a pool front desk clerk very helpful. Minutes from airport great for big families. No ac, no fans, 1/2block from beach I would go back it's costs what most single rooms on the island costs and it sleeps 5.

I Love Puerto del Carmen!!!
Basic but clean accomodation, friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast, cooked well and good wide range available. Lanzarote is an amazing island!!!! I would definitely go back, not only to Lanzarote, but to Puerto del Carmen and the CostaMar Aparthotel.

Aparthotel Costa Mar - Great location, good value
The hotel was in a great location, 2 mins walk from beach, supermarket and restaurants. Could walk or take cheap taxi to local towns. Only 5 min taxi journey from airport (dont book transfers). Hotel itself was clean, and basic. Not really a luxury type hotel. Swimming pool was unfortunately freezing when we went, in December 2010. Animation team was great, there was kids club in the morning and other activities throughout the day. Breakfast buffet was perfectly fine. Some of the apartments would be quite difficult to get to for those with mobility problems or with pushchairs. Enquire about this at time of booking to avoid disappointment.

Just back on 3/11/10, and can find no fault with the Costa Mar Apartments. Only went Bed/Breakfast, the breakfast was basic but fine. Did not use for any evening meals, as seemed to be better choice and price in the Costa Mar Shopping Centre area. Red Lion was good, and would recommend this to anyone. Big Spar Supermarket in the Shopping Centre was good also. Apartment was clean and tidy, but only 2 english speaking channels on TV, Eurosport and CNN News. No kettle or toaster in room, just Fridge and 2 hob with oven. No air-con, this had to be rented. Beware of taxi drivers - I had a fare of 2.40, and I gave him two 2 euro coins. He only gave back 0.60 in change, and insisted I'd given him 3 euros. Same thing can happen in shops when you buy several items, they add up wrong by 10 or 20 euros, so be careful and do the maths yourself before you pay.

Indifferent Management response to complaint
Handbags disturbed when we were out of apartment, Credit card and two I.D. cards stolen from one suitcase. Credit card company advised of misuse of card to holder on Friday, we did not see the manager until Monday, he did not offer any assistance and we were dismissed without any satisfaction. If this is the attitude of management to a very serious issue I would hope that hotels.com will take a more serious view.
