Nice hotel in the middle of nowhere.....Posted May 18, 2015
Pros: Clean and comfortable.
Cons: They should certainly try to improve the breakfast menu, and expand the dining area....
Location: Desolate and foreboding.....There is nothing in the immediate vicinity but a Mexican restaurant (OK) and a bank.
Nice and clean hotel, in La Plata, MO, 12 miles south of Kirksville. Stayed there for two nights for my daughter's graduation. Clean room and shower. Noisy air conditioner, but nice and comfortable bed. Had to wait 20 minutes to check in when I arrived, because there was no one at the reception desk, and no apology from the receptionist when she finally showed up. Breakfast was simple (oatmeal, waffles, cereal and bananas)---No hot breakfast, and only two small breakfast tables in front of the reception desk. Breakfast was a disappointing experience. There is a Mexican restaurant next door, but no eating options inside the hotel, not even vending machines.

Nice hotelPosted Mar 9, 2015
Room was very cold when we arrived, bed was very hard did not get much sleep. There was an envelope in the room I assume for a tip for the staff nothing was done in our room while we were there. We were there two nights. I feel it was over priced.

Unique hotel!Posted Oct 20, 2014
Very comfortable, clean and quiet hotel with great staff! A one-of-a-kind place. The double queen rooms are a bit cramped for 4 people with luggage but it worked. We will definitely consider staying here again!

Surprisingly nice hotelPosted Sep 17, 2014
I was very impressed with the hotel. Very well maintained. Nicely furnished room. Loved all the train related memorabilia. Vineyard be planted behind the hotel. You can a short walk to an overlook and watch the trains go by.

Awesome experiencePosted Jul 21, 2014
I really enjoyed my time at The Depot Inn. The rooms are very clean, they provide breakfast and have a pool. The only thing this hotel lacks is a hot tub.

Highly recommendedPosted Apr 22, 2013
Pros: Cleanliness and atmosphere
Cons: Lack of black out curtains
If the rooms had black out curtains it would be a 5+ hotel.

It was a great place to stay.Posted Oct 8, 2012
I enjoyed the feel of a bigger town hotel in a small town. I liked all of the railroad memobralia and the signs for the hobos I remember my grandparents talking about feeding the hobos as they lived on a welltraveled road for their day. They said the hobos spread by word of mouth if someone would feed them or not.

Treat YourselfPosted Aug 14, 2012
Pros: It was quiet.
Cons: Bath foam instead of bar soap. I had my own though.
Location: The theme of the hotel is Amtrak trains. It was fun to hear the train in the distance when you were outside or in the lobby.
I treated myself by staying in the Victorian Suite. It has a HUGE bed, leather couch, Jacuzzi tub, fresh bath robes. I love it. The room was clean and maintained well.
