Stay was excellent Food very good friendliness of the staff was excellent they could not do enough for us. Cleanliness was very good. We had a front facing room with a sea view which was very nice.

Welcoming and efficient. Very good breakfast. Lovely big smart shower room. Would have preferred a firmer bed. It was extremely bouncy and we kept waking each other up!

The hotel was immaculate, great staff especially the receptionist who checked me in. Definitely will go back, but just when the weather is warmer.

Definitely worth another visit.
It is some time since I last stayed here and the hotel has have a major refurbishment and upgrade. The public areas look very smart and well maintained. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

Nice location, nice views, even when it rains. Property itself is rather outdated. No elevators. Access to the second floor through narrow staircase can be challenging. The first room assigned to us had no working heating, leaking roof, and mold in the bathroom. Upon complain, management moved us. However, I feel that the rather high price per room night is not justified, considering the room conditions.

Hotel looks great and our room with sea view was money well spent. Big problem with wi-fi in hotel and any body on business trip would find it very very difficult to get any reception. Hotel is trying to go up market but man in restaurant taking orders wearing a jumper didn't look very professional or in keeping with new look. My dinner of smokehouse BBQ burger was tasteless and it took 20minutes for our onion rings to appear and had to remind him. Breakfast was disaster after being seated waitress didn't return to take order and proceeded to take orders from 2 other couples ,who came in 10 minutes after us, after food arrived had to ask for our tea and coffee as it was not brought to table. If these teething problems are ironed out it would be a fabulous hotel. We will return to see if it has improved.

My family and I were given rooms at the back of the property which were quite noisy, due to the noise from extractor fans. As the room felt hot, even though the temperature outside was only 12 degC we had to open the window so could not shut out the noise. I think the rooms in the hotel could benefit from air conditioning especially in the summer. There were no evening meals provided in the hotel (we were informed of this beforehand) which was disappointing. However we managed to find quite a few restaurants during our stay. The best bit about a stay in this hotel is that it is within walking distance to most of the cafes, restaurants, railway station, the pier/ferry port, pebbly beach and the views from the front of the hotel.

We were allocated room 115 at the back of this property. The room was very small and it was excruciatingly HOT with the window only opening a fraction and did not let in any air. The outside temperature was 16 degrees over the time we stayed but the room temperature was a stifling 28 which resulted in us both unable to sleep & feeling extremely nauseaus by the morning and unable to contemplate eating any breakfast.
