Diamond in the rough

I stayed in the vintage room with my significant other and it was located above the casino, 2nd floor. Yeah we had to walk up some stairs, keyword: some, but it wasn't a big deal even having to carry the luggage up. The hallways didn't smell which is somewhat of a big deal considering some of the other hotels I've stayed in that was a problem. The room itself was GREAT, especially for the price. We loved it! You don't hear any outside noise coming up from the casino or smoke smell, I mean, nada. The employees are extremely nice and nice enough to give us extra cups for the coffee maker. I would suggest if you're a coffee drinker like we are, stop and buy some kcups for yourself in the roast you prefer and creamer cups. The location is perfect too! Right across the street from the Container Park, cross the street the other way and you're on East Fremont, the art murals around are phenomenal and you can't beat the free parking. I will definitely be staying at El Cortez again and would recommend it to everyone. The vintage atmosphere, the pizza joint, the parlor, just everything about our stay here was great. I also live in Vegas, this was a stay-cation for me. It was relaxing and convenient and definitely worth it.
