Great location on Freemont StreetPosted Nov 25, 2015
Hotel was decent but no as nice as I rembered from previous stay a few years ago. I was locked out of room because of faulty deadbolt lock and it took 2 hours to get the door unlocked. Hotel apologized and took off 90$ of charges that were mistakenly on bill. Don't think I'd ever stay again.

Nice proximity to transportation and entertainmentPosted Nov 25, 2015
Pros: Room was cozy and quiet.
Cons: Some staff were not as nice and pleasant - I expected better reception in the future
I am disappointed with the food at the Grille - I ordered a Santa Fe chicken wrap and it was unpleasantly bland. The coleslaw that went as a side order tasted as if you were eating mayonnaise - not a whole lot of effort expended on the part of the staff who prepared it - practically, I threw away the food and it was a waste of money for me. I am pretty sure that I would not order from this place again.

Great family oriented hotel with Vegas experience.Posted Nov 24, 2015
Great time at the Nugget, I normally stay on the strip but would most definitely stay here again. Great old Vegas feel, solid casino and Fremont Street was a blast. Thumbs up.

Great hotelPosted Nov 24, 2015
Great fun. Wished there was a refrigerator an microwave in room. Bed an pillows great. Clean enough to feel comfee. We were charged 22. A day over our room rate for water, an Internet . We didn't mind for a one time deal but we went to check out and found the 22. Was every day and we were there for three days and already paying for the hotel. Just didn't seem fare.

Good location.Posted Nov 24, 2015
It wasn't bad and it wasn't great. Rooms were nice. We upgraded our room because we were promised over $200 in comps throughout our stay. GN basically gave us a few $5 off coupons and happy hour tickets which wasn't needed because happy hour is available to anyone as long as you're there between 4 and 7. What they also fail to tell you is that they charge you $20/day resort fee to put water and a newspaper in your room. We never received a newspaper and we had to call for water.

Nice retro hotel with an amazing pool.Posted Nov 24, 2015
Hotel was nice with a great retro feel perfectly located on Freemont. Be aware that if your room is in the Carson Tower these rooms aren't as updated which probably makes them better priced. To get to our elevators we were always approached by staff located at a nearby desk to purchase/sign up for hotel related items. Get enough push on Freemont from the homeless and vendors for our money would rather not experience in our hotel everyday on the way up to our room.

Room upgrade?Posted Nov 24, 2015
Pros: the pool and bar located on the roof for adults only.
Cons: Make the room we had a storage room and give customers a room with a view that doesn't give the impression of being in a dark dungeon.
Location: Lots of things to see and do. Museums, street characters, gambling and good restaraunts
We were told were we being upgraded to a better room, but although the room was nice the only window looked straight to a cement wall. We had no view whatsoever of anything. Because of this the room was dark even in the daytime. Very disappointing. It was our first stay there and I don't know that I will return to this hotel again.

The NuggetPosted Nov 24, 2015
Pros: The room was quiet and removed from the action
Cons: Lighten up on folks, people come to Vegas to have fun, don't get uptight about a free beer, you hand them out so folks will get comfortable and stay
Location: Right on Fremont Street, at least 6 other casinos within walking distance, check out the El Cortez, old school Vegas.
We stay at the Nugget when we go to Downtown Vegas, mostly because it usually gives us a clean room. The overall atmosphere is that of a high end mall. Lots of really rich and self indulgent folks stopping in the middle of the high traffic areas to ponder their day. The main issue is these are the type of people this place caters to. If you don't wipe your butt with $100 bills, your probably not going to get treated very good. My wife and I were chastised at the bar for using $5 bills instead of $20 bills to "qualify" for our complimentary beers (the only place that I know of that militantly makes you "qualify" for complementary beverages). The thing is, we broke $100 bills in their machine, that machine gave us the $5 bills, bartender was very confrontational about it.... anyway, the Carson tower is probably the quietest on Fremont during the whole light and sound show, that's the main plus. I have stayed in almost all the Downtown hotels and it is the quietest I have found. Take away from this review, you get a quiet and mostly clean room by Vegas standards, you just have to deal with the narcissism and showboat mentality more here than anywhere else. Casino is not a great place to gamble either, but it's really close to all the other great downtown casinos so that's not to big of a deal.
