Excellent Choice!!Posted Oct 5, 2015
Location: Rock Pizza is a block or two away and has fantastic pizza!!
I was very impressed all the way around! The hotel is in a prime location. It is beautiful. Parking is easy and free. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms, we stayed in a Rush Tower King, are huge, comfortable, clean, lovely, and easy to get to. The bathroom is excellent with a huge tub. The bed was really comfortable. The casino is the heart of downtown!! And we swam in the great pool, with the sharks! The water slide was really fun. I wouldn't stay anywhere else!!

Buffet and bathroom.Posted Oct 3, 2015
Pros: It's very classy except for the pitiful rooms.
Cons: Rooms, rooms, rooms!! Buffet food!!!
Location: Excellent and the Fremont street is totally awesome. Allmost a carnival type atmoshere. Thats gotten way better over the years!
Iv'e stayed there about 160 time in the last 25 years,no exageration. I live in Denver. The buffet went from great to very average food. It's a bit overpriced and the only reason I go to it is because there is usually no line at all. Food is average at best. The rooms are below average. They remodeled them and they were so much nicer before. The decor is horrible! The theme is kind of a depressing brown. The safe used to be on the top shelf of the closet now it's in the lower shelf inside the desk/dresser. You have to squat down and there is little light it is fairly dark! The sink in the bath room is raised above the counter so if you wash your face water fly's all over the place! The phone is a cordless phone that sits on a land line. There are so many different buttons to push that you have to study to make a call. The windows on the outside are filthy. I play video poker and that went from great to poor! ON THE GOOD SIDE: The pool outside may be the best in Vegas but that doesn't interest me. Two great things are they have a shuttle that goes to the airport twice an hour so you don't have to make reservations! They will get your boarding pass for the airline when you check out which is awesomel Plus the decor and class inside the hotel is way over the top, it is beautiful and very classy! Come to think of it though after I reread this I may not stay there anymore because the rooms are so horrible and it's the most expensive place down town! John

Hotel close to downtown.Posted Oct 2, 2015
Pros: great service
Cons: Ventilation in the rooms was inadequate.
Location: Location was good to downtown, but not close to entertainment on the strip.
Hotel staff and service was excellent. Food buffet was great for the price with many selections and variety. Check in and out was convenient, but I did see a long waiting line at times. It was great that the staff printed out our boarding passes at checkout. The hotel was close to Fremont Street and the music variety was a good draw for us. I would stay at the hotel again.

Nicely remodeled hotel in old downtown Las VegasPosted Oct 1, 2015
We went to Vegas for our anniversary and were very pleased with our choice of the Golden Nugget. The newly remodeled room and hotel was very nice and we enjoyed Being so close to Fremont street.

Golden Nugget Downtown VegasPosted Oct 1, 2015
I knew going in this was downtown Las Vegas which means Fremont St. Took 45 minutes to check in after a day long trade show and a 30 minute wait for a cab so we didn't get off to a good start. Lot of smoking in all areas of the hotel except my floor. Lower end clientele than the guests you find on the strip. Lot of vagrants and bums sleeping around the hotel as it's next to the jail. Very inappropriate street exhibitionists right outside the hotel that kids should not be exposed to. Too far from all the nice restaurants on the strip. Wouldn't go back.

wish we could of stayed longerPosted Sep 30, 2015
Pros: The pool area and the resturaunts were great.
Cons: It would have been nice if the " Carson " tower had another elevator closer to our room, it was a long walk.
Location: The "Zip Line" was fun to watch as well as the many diferent street performers and the "Lazer Light" show every night.
We have been to Las Vegas many times over the years and this is the first time we have stayed "Down Town". We are looking forward to staying at the "Golden Nugget" again. There was so much to see and do right in the casino that we probably won't stay on the strip again.
