Why the early pool hours?

Posted Aug 17, 2015
Pros: Quiet, well kept, and away from the main part of Las Vegas.
Cons: Extend the pool hours to 10:00 pm.
This is a beautiful hotel about 15 miles away from the strip and our first time at the JW Marriot - Las Vegas. The property is well kept and nicely appointed but a bit pricey. We appreciated the fact that the main casino area was far enough away from our room, our stay had a very nice relaxing feel since we did not have to walk through the cigarette smoke filled gambling area each time we had to enter and leave the hotel. Parking is limited, they do offer a free valet but sometimes this is not convenient especially when you need to get something out of your car and always making sure that you have a few dollars for the tip. This appears to be a normal issue for us but we find the AC in many hotels a bit too powerful. After setting the thermostat to 77 degrees, we our faces was constantly blasted with cold air, this makes it difficult to get a good nights sleep. On our 2nd night, we just opened the French doors and ran the ceiling fan. One of the reasons why we booked this hotel was the swimming pool but we never got to enjoy it. We arrived late Friday for check-in and our next day Saturday was busy since the purpose of our stay was for a sporting tournament. We had hoped to enjoy the pool after dinner but was disappointed to discover the pool was closed after 7pm. Why is this? A reasonable closing time would have been 9-10pm. This probably was the only bad memory of this resort and difficult to accept when you see your bill with the daily resort fees.

The hotel is nice but so many little things were not working (hot tub, lights on bed frame) that it felt like an inconvenience.

Nice hotel away from is strip craziness

Posted Aug 4, 2015
We come to Vegas for family and not the strip. It was nice to have a clean, comfortable hotel where we did not need to see or smell a casino. Beautiful mountain views in the morning!

Away from the strip.

Posted Jul 19, 2015
Pros: Nothing!
Cons: Everything!
Location: Location is good, but exadurated about the area.
There was one person working at the front desk with 4 people waiting! It took more than 20 minutes to check us in. There were charges on my card well beyong the so called resort fees that they squeeze in. I asked for extra towels and it took 30 minutes to get them. The front desk person did not know how to give my reward points with Marriott membership card. At the check in time, it took him 20 minutes to give us the worst room they could!

Oasis in the desert

Posted Jul 13, 2015
We had stayed a few nights at the Bellagio and wanted a few nights relaxation away from Vegas. This is the perfect spot. Grounds, pool and rooms are spacious, pretty and clean. Love the jacuzzi tub in room. There are several Restaurants. We enjoyed eating at Spiedini and the Irish pub. Breakfast buffet was good, only includes 2 if you purchase with your stay, so family of 4 will pay extra for 2 more, that was not made clear when booking. Hotel offers a shuttle into Vegas which we didn't use. Hotel is very close to Red Rock Canyon which is worth spending a day or two hiking and driving through.

Great place to stay while in Vegas. The room that we got was so spacious, and we felt like royalty. The Bell staff were very nice and helpful. Overall, my family and I had a great stay at this hotel.
