Can't go wrong with the MGM GrandPosted Oct 10, 2015
First time ever to Vegas. The Grand did not disappoint. Even the basic room was nice, good view, comfortable bed and clean. On site dining is awesome in both choice and quality, access to the monorail makes getting around a breeze and the staff is too notch.

Cons: Better staff
We stayed in the west wing, the bathroom is in the middle of the room! There is no privacy. When I told the desk clerk I didn't like the room, he said, most people do.you have to walk All the way down to the end of the hall to the elevator. If you have a problem walking like me It is no fun.

MGM Grand is a great place to stayPosted Oct 9, 2015
Pros: Nicely updated. Elevators were fast. Never had to wait long. Good location. Less expensive that many other options.
Cons: A little more signage to help navigate, esp to get to the monorail from the strip
Location: Good location. Not in the center of the strip but still a great spot and easy walking distance to everything. Duece bus entrance close by.
We traveled to Las Vegas for a second honeymoon. After researching many hotel options available, we booked the MGM Grand. It was a great choice. It is only about 2 miles from the airport so cab fare was fairly inexpensive. We paid $16 + tip coming in (ripped off) but $11 + tip going out. The hotel is right on LV Blvd (the strip) with raised pedestrian bridges across LV Blvd and Tropicana Ave. It is on the south end but still right in the middle of the action. The interior of the hotel was very nice. I would not compare it to the Bellagio or Venetian but it was clearly updated and more than adequate. All of the hotel staff that we encountered were friendly and efficient. We arrived on Saturday around 6:00pm and checked-in without a wait. Our room was awesome. We stayed in the Grand Tower. It was nicely appointed with updated fixtures, furniture, bathroom tile, etc. We were on the 6th floor to start with a limited view but we were able to upgrade after the first night ($15/night) to the 26th floor with a much better view. We did not have the iconic LV view but it will still be pretty cool. You can't see the Eiffel Tower, Flamingo, etc because they are blocked by other buildings but there are still plenty of lights. We had two queen beds (although we had booked a king) but they were very comfortable. The pools looked OK, not spectacular like some hotels. The only drawback was navigating the hotel because of its sheer size. We figured it out soon and managed fine.

A well-known hotel well past its primePosted Oct 9, 2015
Had the unfortunate experience of staying here recently and was very disappointed with the low level of service. Requested a bathrobe and a pair of slippers for the wife and was put on hold for 15 minutes by the front desk as all the operators were "busy". Turns out that all calls to the front desk took on average 10 minutes to be answered. Finally spoke to an operator and was advised that my room in the "West Wing" weren't "premium" enough to have such amenities. The same applied to a kettle. Only an air pot was available to rent for a flat fee of $25 plus tax - ridiculous! When asked what the cost of an upgrade to a "premium" room would be, the response was condescending and the question never properly answered. The location of the room itself was a joke - a good 100 meters from the elevators at least! Overall, the staff showed very little urgency and care to assist their guests. Wouldn't stay here again even if it were free.

Average and outdatedPosted Oct 8, 2015
Overpriced for an outdated room. Stayed in the 'StayWell' room, which is sold as a health benefit room with a lot of healthy choices, vitamin C shower, hypoallergenic linen... etc - it's just a non-smoking floor. Bathroom average. Never saw a seperate healthy options room service meal. Vitamin C shower is questionable as to if it even does anything and just looks gimmick-y. Furniture is old and outdated to the early 90's Restaurants are average. Pool has limited operating hours - 9am to 5pm. Which for an Aussie, is a very strange time to open and shut a pool when it's 40 degrees out. All the hotels in Vegas are owned by the same group, so it doesn't matter where you choose to spend your money as it all goes to the same place.
