No need to go to Vegas proper

Pros: The resort theme
Cons: Nothing
Location: 25 mins from Vegas, lots of restaurants
We on Y planned to stay at Westin resort for one night, but decided to extend our stay. Located in a resort which had everything: restaurants, casino, activities, market, and a spa, you don't need to go to Vegas proper. You can relax relaxe and not have to go anywhere.

Pros: Lage und Angebot des Hotels mit schönem Ausblick auf den See, in dem man auch schwimmen kann. Abends schönes Ambiente mit Feuern im Aussenbereich.
Location: Ca. 20 km vom Strip entfernt und sehr abgelegen und ruhig. Kaum Einkaufsmöglichkeiten in der Umgebung. Hotel bietet viel Gastronomie und kleine Shops.
Schönes modernes Hotel mit großzügiger Poolanlage und Zugang zum Lake Las Vegas. Steh Paddel und Kajakfahren möglich und gutes Wifi auch in den Zimmern kostenlos vorhanden.

Wonderful getaway

Cons: Clearly mark where the elevators are.
Location: About 12 miles from Las Vegas with easy access to Lake Mead and Hoover Dam
Never again will we stay "on the strip." This resort is a wonderful getaway and you are so close but yet far enough away from the strip craziness. The grounds are gorgeous and the ambiance is devine. We loved to Moroccan theme. Rejuvenate during the day and do the Vegas thing at night. What a wonderful combination.

Beautiful place to stay

We loved this place! Wish we had more time to spend there. The outside walking area was beautiful!!! Facilities were beautiful!! We can't wait to go back!!

Not 4*, not even close

Not a good experience. I thought Westin was supposed to be upper end but this one is not. Plastic cups in plastic wrap, no heavenly bed, no heavenly shower, etc. Staff is indifferent and their favorite word is "No".

ALMOST GREAT!!!

The check in process was good even though our room was not ready, staff was friendly and courteous! Throughout our stay we visited the pool area, we loved the pool but on one occasion some teenagers were playing with a plastic bucket and decided to use the drinking water from the cooler- once we realized the bucket had touched the water we immediately notified the lifeguard- our request to have the cooler removed or water emptied was ignored so we asked someone else, and again it was ignored- during this time we felt obliged to notified the guests that the water was not good to drink- we finally spoke to a third person and she took care of it- the food was great at both restaurants- the breakfast buffet was also very good- I loved that the hotel was away from Vegas and did not have any machines! We loved the different amenities such as paddle boarding and kayaking(free 1 hr per day)- the hotel itself was great, busy but it didn't feel too busy!!! We decided to travel to California for a few days and so we checked out early(2 nights early) the checkout person never asked why we were checking out early- very odd... There are many great things about this place and I would recommend it however there are also many young associates working and I believe they need more training and experience dealing with guests- if I were to stay there and some of the things mentioned here were repeated in my next visit I would no longer visit this location and also recommend Westin!!!

Beautiful hotel but...

This is a great place, so many sporting event kids and teenagers running around. Sleep interruptions and overall loud people all around!

Away from the strip

Loved the fact that it was away from the strip and also no gambling machines. Loved the grounds, the amenities such as 1 hr free kayake and also paddle boarding each day. Two big pools with slide and the lake, this was a very nice treat!!! The restaurants were great, the convenient store had pretty much everything one needed! The Starbucks was so convenient however sometimes the staff was great and others not so attentive... Here are a few reasons why I didn't list it as excellent; one morning a group of girls decided to play with the water cooler the resort has at each pool for people to drink and actually put their hands inside- we complained and it took forever and several people to actually care to change the cooler and water- we had to stand by the cooler so people wouldn't drink the water... We have reservations through Sunday July 17th however we checked out today July 15th, we decided to travel to California to visit family- front desk never asked why we were checking out two days early... At check in our room was not ready so he said he would give us a $50 credit and free breakfast- we never got the $50 credit and only got breakfast one day... I love Westin we've stayed in other cities, I appreciated this Hotel in many different ways, however there were situations that were disappointing!!! I could have have gone lower in the rating, however I loved the location, I loved that there were no machines, I love the lake being so closed, the serenity of the place.

Nice swimming pool, but terrible service

Swimming pool & free kayaking were nice, but the service by hotel staff wasn't nice. I reserved for resort view room, but it was actually a parking lot view. I requested to change the room, but I was told that no other room was available for higher floor and I only can upgrade the room with extra charge. I asked for a little fridge when checked in, but the lady told me to put my name on waiting list. However, there was a fridge in the room already although it wasn't working properly. I called the front desk for help on how to adjust the temperature, but she told me that she'd send someone to my room. A man appeared with new fridge after 2-3 hours, and he told me that the temp adjust switch was in the back of fridge where I couldn't reach! Anyway, the tv remote wasn't working, bath tub got clogged, extra blanket was delivered so late, etc... So, we won't expect good service next time if we ever decided to go here again!
