Great location, close to everything.

Posted Mar 11, 2017
Pros: Hotel staff is very helpful and the location of the hotel is fantastic.
Cons: Updating the rooms, cleaner. It seems as though the hotel itself is in need of a makeover.
Location: That part is wonderful. Skating, snowshoeing, cross country skiing and downhill skiing close by. Close to many shops and restaurants. Great location!!
I have been going to the hotel for 4-5 years now and every year it seems to decline. The room this year was very outdated and somewhat clean. The pool could have been cleaner and many of the previously available facilities (spa & massage place and arcade room) were no longer available or existent. The buffet style breakfast has been reduced in quantity over the years. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful.

Missing a little love

Posted Mar 3, 2017
Cons: You have a beautiful fireplace use it, clients should not ask for a fire. Pool, Spas need to be refreshed
Location: Winter not much to do, unless you go on the other side of the mountain. Ranch with horses,
It's too bad that everything is falling apart, this hotel was awesome in the past. This hotel needs a major face lift but keep the cozy old fashioned look. These old places need a lot of love but is worth every penny in the end. I sent my wife to go rest, and rest she did because their is nothing to do except the pool and spas even that the water in the pool was a yellowish color , I guess it had a overdose of chlorine. Staff was polite, and did what they could to please, restaurant the Namos was great, food and service excellent. If you want to go down town, well a lot of things are closed because of the lack of tourists. According to the staff summer it is the place to be, but for winter well, unless activities are created or the ski hill is re-opened on the hotel side not much to do. They do have a skating rink on the lake but was closed because Mother nature had issues. You can go horse riding if you want at a cost of 35$.

Hotels.com isn't trustworthy

Posted Feb 21, 2017 on Hotels
We booked through hotels.com for 3 nights but apparently the hotel said it was only for 2 nights so that told us we had to switch rooms in between out 2nd anf 3rd night. Won't use hotels.com again. Hotel room was dated and you can hear everything in the hall perfectly from your room so I hope you aren't a light sleeper!

Short stay but not impessing

Posted Oct 6, 2016
The Hotel is an older yet Classic Hotel Could they be having financial issues ? They are allowing this beautiful building to fall apart. The hallways as well as our bed room lacked adequate lighting not enabling reading. The windows had no screens. ( could not open to allow fresh country air) While booking we were told that they do have a D.J. at the bar on Saturday night. There was no DJ present. The upper parking lot is in terrible shape . Two large mounds of heaved pavement causing the undercarriage of the car to scrape bottom. The value was good for the price charged. We did not expect to find this Hotel, which we stayed at years ago on a skiing weekend, to have slipped as described as in the above..

Disappointing getaway

Posted Sep 28, 2016 on Hotels
Our trip was quite disappointing as we booked a quick night away mid-week to use the pool and be by the beach and have a nice meal. Well we got there only to find out the pool and beach were both closed. (Not enough people we were told! That is precisely why we travel mid-week! To avoid the crowds) The pool was our only criteria in searching for the hotel. We were never informed. A wasted trip. We definately would have booked elsewhere had we known. The meal was good.

Nice place but busy

Posted Sep 18, 2016
The room was very clean even if this is an older hotel that could use renovating. This is a very popular venue for weddings and reunions. This means a lot of people walki g back and forth in the corridors, in this case at all hours of the night. Unfortunately, the walls are not sound proof. I would consider staying there again, but not without checking first that there are no evemts going on.
