Upon registering and picking upon the key the room, I was required by the owner, to justify as to why I had requested two night accommodations as two separate reservations rather than one reservation over two evenings. This she explained made it most difficult for her to find accommodations at her motel, given this was a holiday weekend. In order to accommodate us, she said that she upgraded our room. I am not sure what the upgrade was perhaps the couch as everything else seemed to be rather standard including the old style TV - bulky tube type, the leaky fridge, etc.
