Nice hotel shame about the noise

Posted Sep 11, 2017
All good - excellent staff and comfort save that there is a constant row from across the river all Saturday night to 3am the next morning

Highly recommended

Have stayed on 3 occasions now. Very highly recommended, reasonable prices, excellent location close to city centre/station in beautiful converted building on the river front. Rooms are large, comfortable and the breakfast is also very good. Staff are excellent - welcoming, accommodating and nothing is too much trouble. Wouldn't hestiate to recommend.

Disappointing service

Posted Aug 23, 2017
The staff did not seem interested in offereing much by way of service. Our first room's tv did not work so we changed rooms but there was only 1 bath towel and robe for the 2 of us. The carpet in the lift was dirty. Everything just seemed to be below what is usually provided by less expensive hotels.

Good location, hotel a tad disappointing...

Posted Aug 23, 2017
Pros: Location. The breakfast room overlooking the river was nice.
Cons: Modernised entry system to the bedrooms, instead of a key with an oversized keyring
Stopped here for an evening prior to a visit to RHS Harlow Carr (Harrogate) the following day. Thankfully the bed was a very good size, but the room on the whole needed updating/modernising, particularly the bathroom. Sadly, having no air-conditioning in the room was very noticable as it was a very warm evening - the heat was unbearable in our 2nd floor room, so sleep was not good at all. Not an unpleasant stay, but probably wouldn't revisit anytime soon.

Staff not very friendly especially at breakfast. Poor quality for price breakfast. Rooms look tired, are very hot and it is a noisy spot also.

old flour mill retains some character

Posted Jul 8, 2017
Staff is caring and patient with my rather demanding cousin who engages with people whether or not they have better things to do. That's worth a lot says his mother who would not go anywhere else on our yearly stays in Leeds. I personally have had no trouble with anyone there and staff is helpful And polite. Being an old and converted building, floors are uneven. That adds some character. Rooms on the street side are noisy at night for those who sleep with windows open. Rooms on the river side are calm and the view is nice.

Pros: Personal touches e.g. Wine on arrival
Cons: Nothing
Location: In a quiet area with bars and restaurants, but the large bar across the river gets very noisy
Very smart and tidy, a lot of noise from a large bar across the river
