Warmed to this hotel
When we arrived at the Royal Appalonia it was late evening and I must say that as we walked into the hotel lobby and reception area, the general feel of the place was very disappointing. The hotel has had a recent make over and the minimalist décor I found depressing. No warm colours or large flower displays, no nice statues and lets face it this is what Greece and Cyprus are good at.
No they have about 20 Andy Warhol Marilyn Monro Prints on one wall in various colours, and to my mind it just dose not work. The place needs cheering up.
Now the good bits.
The bedroom although not large is very comfortable and spotlessly clean, good flat screen telly, robes and slippers, tea and coffee and some rather nice apples.
The breakfast is really good catering foe all tastes and a lovely lady making great omelettes,
The pool area is excellent with plenty of sun beds and towels, but the best feature of this hotel is the staff, from the management through to the room maids it is truly exceptional.
