Lovely Hotel, Very Friendly Staff, Though not good for shopping or massage places near by.Though staff were very good at organizing taxi's for us 😀

Xmas and New Years getaway

its wasn't a bad hotel, just not what I expected. lacked a lot of customer service. We had to go to the bar every time we wanted a drink when we were in the pool. for a young persons getaway its not ideal maybe for a family holiday away from the main area of Kuta and Legian. room sometimes wasn't cleaned. Hotel was further away than expected we had to get a taxi everywhere

Not a 4 star hotel. More like a good 3 star hotel.

Check in was fine.Yhe front desk staff were lovely and helpful. However, the room was below our expectations of a 4 star hotel: tile floors instead of carpet, not much space to lounge unless sitting on the bed and no mini bar (only a small bar fridge that hardly cooled our drinks). At the buffet breakfast there was a separate crepe and pancake station. They had only trainee chefs the whole time we were there (10 days) and they did not know how to cook crepes because they were consistently undercooked. My partner and I resorted to waiting after our order to tell them to flip the crepe and cook it longer. They also run out of nutella(popular with the crepes and pancake orders) on our first day, and did not bother to replenish their stock by the next day at breakfast, as we were told "no nutella". This place is in Legian, very central and close to many shops, so it baffles me that they did not buy more nutella. They require you to put down a deposit of 1,000,000 rupiah at check-in if you want to charge items to your room during your stay. Apart from staff at the front desk, it was extremely difficult communicating with all other staff. The restaurant served sub-par food that was always cold, or at best, luke-warm. One time we ordered the "assorted bruschetta" for room service and received the classic bruschetta which costs less. I tried explaining to them we received the wrong dish, but the restaurant staff simply could not understand what I was saying.Will not be staying again

Good hotel all around.

I love the fontana hotel, I have stayed there four times now in the last twelve months of 2017. The hotel is clean and quiet eventhough it is close to busy road with great places to eat and buy what you need. It has a nice ambience wether relaxing around the pool, in the restaurant or having a drink at the bar. Staff are excellent, so friendly and helpful.

Nice hotel close to shopping center , restaurants

Pros: Zen massage and swimming pool
Cons: Gymn needs more equipments
Location: Excellent to go to night restaurants nearby
Staff is nice and helpful. Room is clean and Bed is comfort. Swimming pool is nice Closed to restaurants and shopping centers

Disappointing, wouldn't stay here again.

Ok, so recently stayed (Sep 17) and have listed the pros and cons. In short, average hotel, poor location on a busy road, poolside area too small and constantly in the shade, breakfast disappointing, staff were friendly and polite. Pros: Fantastic, polite and friendly staff. Comfortable bed and generally clean. Cons: location on a busy road meaning taxis everywhere and not able to go for a nice walk nearby. Breakfast is bad, flies all over the open display pastries, coffee like water and terrible (had to order separate coffee every day), no soya milk - had to request it for the next day, breakfast not great for vegans. The pool is terrible, it's pretty much always in the shape and only 2x sun loungers that offer all day sun - which are often taken. This was a bad design/layout. Finally the bathroom was tired and dirty (tile mould etc.) and had a smell from the drains in the room meaning you have to keep flushing the toilet. The walls in the hotel are paper and you can hear everything! I mean everything from people walking down the corridor, other guests TV and conversations and also other couples being intimidate / they need better sound proofing.

Comfortable and affordable, near airport

Pros: Great staff, clean, good value, comfortable
Cons: Noisy hallways as people return to their rooms in the evening, talking and closing doors etc. Maybe the staff can put signs in hallways.
Location: Well centered near airport, but I did not do anything around there. Just relaxed for one night. Many restaurants nearby however.
I needed a one-night stay near the airport to relax before another adventure. This was a good choice and good value just for this. I would gladly return if just for a short stay in that area. Otherwise, I prefer a location away from the hussle and motors.

Terrible

This used to be my favorite hotel in Bali. Things have changed a lot. The wifi is no longer good. The hotel mgmt lets budget travellers from France block off all the chairs at the pool while they go shopping all day. Smoking is permitted everywhere including the common areas and restaurants. The security is non-existant. Not a safe place to stay.

Pros: The spa was awesome and massage really good
Cons: Needs refurbishing and bad odour in bathroom but they are workinf on refurbish
Location: Good local restaurants nearby and reasonable value
Pool not situated well for sun - only 2 loungers get sun til mid afternoon
