"Stellar gem in Jim Thorpe - unforgettable pleasure"
Treat yourself. We most highly recommend you stay at the Parsonage B&B with new owners Michael and Jeff.
Their thoughtfulness, artistry, culinary skills, and generosity with their time, energy and kind spirit made our stay (July 9-10) one of the most memorable anywhere. It's a great value -- a real gem of an experience. But it's not surprising given their culinary, hotel, and art gallery backgrounds.
We were struck by the delightful blending of local antiques with diverse, international artwork (paintings, glasswork), the friendliness and competency of the owners, and the comprehensive comfort of the bedroom and bathroom.
There are only 4 rooms, and sharing the 5-star, imaginative breakfast worthy of any Top Chef TV show with our fellow guests is a wonderful way to start the day. We stayed the weekend in Eleanor's Room; it reminded me of my grandmother receiving the 1952 American Mother of the Year Award from Eleanor Roosevelt in NYC.
Jeff is rebuilding the garden and re-landscaping, topped by a breezy, bug-free gazebo, in which we took a nap after visiting the Asa Packer Mansion, St. Mark's Church, and hiking Glen Onoko Falls.
Despite our room facing a main street, our sleep was quiet and very restful, on a very comfortable bed.
The bathroom and bedroom are equipped and decorated with many elegant, thoughtful touches.
The small common library has coffee, tea, hot water, biscotti and pretzels.
We will definitely be back. Our love to you, Michael and Jeff !! <3!
