The hotel is located on the edge of the shopping centre and 5 mins walk from the rail station. The Templar castle is a good 15 mins walk away, but the railway museum is just across the bridge from the hotel.
A warm welcome at Reception; who throughout my stay were very helpful; especially being translator with a taxi driver who I wanted to use to explore the hinterland. A walk-in health clinic is 5 mins walk away.
The hotel and rooms are presented in a medieval style; though in my room a new lick of paint would refresh the minor marked / stained areas.
The room was comfortable and quiet and I slept well. Breakfast has a fair range of cold fayre, but the presentation of the hot scrambled egg and bacon was not appealing. Boiled bacon sitting in a bath of water is definitely off-putting and I gave both a wide berth!
Otherwise a lovely place to stay.
