Like pets, but....

Posted Feb 1, 2016
Pros: Staff was very pet friendly
Cons: Pet owners are not second class guests. Why give them the worst accommodations?
Location: Near river, museum and walking paths.
When I had to change reservations to bring our dog, the clerk offered me a room $5.00 less than my original reservation, but would have no mini fridge, microwave or sofa; instead of a king size bed it would have 2 queens and a pet fee. I accepted but said I'd call back if I couldn't find something different. I found the same room he offered at a higher rate online for much less.Called back, cancelled original reservation and was able to get pet room for the online price + fee. Room had old furniture, musty smelling shower curtain, was across from elevator, which was very loud when going up and down,TV was over 10 years old (not flat screen) & only had local channels. Since it was paid for through Expedia, we would loose our payment if we left. Then on Saturday night there was a wedding at the hotel with loud music and big crowd (we were not forwarned when checking in) with the doors open to the courtyard and 2 doors down from us. When calling front desk we were told it would go on until 1am, not good when you need to be up at 6 am. They were not going to move us to a quieter room because all the pet rooms were full, but it was okay for us to find another hotel and loose our fees. It wasn't until we said we'd call authorities that a room became available for us to switch to.The room was much nicer, had original amenities and was QUIET. Thankful that they responded, but realized pet owners do not receive same level of comfort for equivalent price (we expect to pay pet fee).

Dear D, I apologize for the experience you had while staying at the hotel. We do love our pets and their owners staying at the hotel. We do only have one type of room and area that we allow our pets to stay. This is for allergy reasons for our other guests. We do realize that all of our rooms are dated. We do have new owners for the hotel and they plan to renovate all of the rooms in the whole hotel including the pet rooms.

Horrible, very outdated, not worth the $

Posted Jan 28, 2016
The pool area was the nicest part of the hotel. Very outdated and does not look the pictures posted. Beds are old and the furniture. I was taller than the shower head in the bathtub. Tattered shower curtain, no blow dryer. Smelled like something burning through the vents

Pros: pool
Cons: too much to list but one in particular is one coupon for breakfast per room, all others have to pay a large amount per person
not good, very disappointing, booking with Expedia no breakfast coupons and that is only one allowed per room

Thank you for your review on your stay. The hotel is under new ownership and the Restaurant is leased to anew owner as well. Due to this change the hotel is charged for breakfast and so the process has been changed.

Beautiful lobby, tired rooms.

Posted Dec 2, 2015
Pros: Lobby, bar/atrium area. Food was good from resteraunt.
Cons: Al out everything about the rooms.
Location: Location is good, near the mall, movie theatre, lots of resteraunts nearby, downtown shopping.
Walking into the lobby of the Lodge it is quite beautifully done. The bar/ lounge area in the atrium is a very nice relaxing area to unwind at the end of the day. We had a late dinner in the lounge and it was very good. The room was a different experience. It is in dire need of upgrading. The bed is very hard and you can feel the springs, couch looks original, tv is picture tube, windows old and drafty, old smell, bathroom old looking. The room did have a microwave and fridge. I'm not sure if the hotel has renovated rooms but ours was a disappointment. Overall very nice lobby/atrium area, below avg rooms.

Wicked theme

Posted Nov 21, 2015
Everything was pretty good, large breakfast selection. Only complaint is that the hotel smells a bit musky. Also through no fault of the hotel, there were farm smells all around outside.

WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD!!!!

Posted Nov 2, 2015
Pros: NOTHING!
Cons: SEE EXPERIENCE!
I booked this hotel based on the reviews of people, as I had never stayed in Lethbridge. My stay lasted 15 minutes, as I went to another hotel. I travel a lot, and to smaller towns, so I did not expect 4 - 5 star hotels. But this is a 1, not even a 3!!!! I have no idea what others see in it! Hotel is OLD! 2 Elevators that maybe fit 4 tight. One was out of order. The working one was located in a hallway that fits 2 people. I had to move out of the way and block the hallway as a women with 2 kids came out. My room assignment was the farthest from this elevator, meaning walking the full perimeter of the building. I found out later that there were rooms closer to it. MY room was OLD! Appeared that nothing had been done for 25 years! TV is an old tube version! 2 of the 4 room lamps had blown bulbs. The bathroom looked very worn. Did not try the bed!! I politely called the front desk to ask if I could change to a better room, but was coldly told no because I booked it on line through a 3rd party internet site, (like this one). When I said I would pay the difference, I was told NO!!! No changes allowed. PERIOD!!! I got my things and went to the front desk and asked for a card for the Manager. Sorry, she does not have any! In fairness, I was told she had just started. I also understand it has just changed ownership. BUT I would wait a year to see if the new owners are serious about this! There are nicer hotels in Lethbridge at similar rooms rate I would look at before this!

Pros: The building itself is very nice, pretty and pleasing.
Cons: everything!
Location: the galt museum, hudson bay store, downtown.
its really pretty with all the trees and the skylight. The building itself is beautiful, the staff however are not and as pretty as the building looks it's not worth it to put up with that much stupidity. My room smelt like someones perfume and when they came to clean it it was 4pm, I was in the shower and a housekeeper came into my room and refused to leave and was yelling at me. Previously I stayed and 2 housekeepers were peering in on my daughter and came into our room 4 times in one morning! I know this was all blamed on housekeeping but it is all of the staff. They also stole things from my room around 4:30pm (2 hours after I had checked in) and I had to complain to get them back. The staff who brought my personal items said he didn't care that a legal document I had got tossed in the garbage, claiming "nobody knew I was checked in"

Great sleep and Breakfast

Posted Oct 22, 2015
Pros: Friendly Staff Great breakfast
Cons: Hire a plumber to get all sinks working. Prune the Elm with the broken Limb out front.
Location: Great location with other restaurants and interesting museum, Fort Whoopup, and trails nearby.
Stayed two nights for a conference. Had a locked out situation and they fixed me right away. There was one elevator not working as well as some washroom sinks at the conference.
